Over the years I’ve noticed two immutable truths: Supporting Newcastle leads to the maximum hope to disappointment ratio (from ‘96 through to our most recent relegation). I can’t predict to save my life. Therefore I predict a dour 0-0 for most of the match, we miss a sitter, and Cardiff snatch a 0-1 winner at the end. At the very least it will be interesting to see which streak breaks first.
Ah...that would suggest Alan Foggon is still injured. That's a pity because his marauding runs from deep would have troubled Cardiff. If Benny Arentoft plays at the head of the diamond and isn't tempted to move wide I think he'll compliment Dyson's movement. I'm going for a 3-1 win to the lads. Dyson 2 Ritchie 1
So Laecelles and Clark out, but who gives a ****? Our best defense is Fernandez with either Schar or Lejuerne. Rondon & Perez are fit, so that's the best we have up front, Kennedy was a bloody abomination in the reverse fixture in Cardiff earlier in the season, so glad he's out. Diame will be a miss, but out boy Longstaff should make up for it. 2-0 Toon
Dubruvka, Schar, Fernandez, Lejuene Yedlin, Diame*, Longstaff, Ritchie Perez, Rondon, Atsu Subs Woodman, Dummett?/Manquillo, Lacselles/Clark, Hayden*, Shelvey?/Roberts, Murphy/Kenedy, Joselue So many injured it's near impossible to tell what kind of bench we will have but I think the starting XI pretty much picks itself. Hayden in for Diame if Mo is not fit enough to start. Love the look of the back three though with Schar and Lejuene ball playing CB's either side of Fernandez.
Is that so we could kidnap their Murphy and swap him with our Murphy I'm sure nobody would notice until Cardiff played again and find that hes gone lame
It wasn't - but not the worst idea I've heard Just think he needs a run of games - others get them, he seems to get a game does ok (e.g. Man City) then gets dropped - think he deserves a consistent run of games to prove himself - or otherwise
5-2-3 formation for me. Dubravka Yedlin - Fernandes - Lejeune - Dummett - Ritchie Schar - Diame Perez - Rondon - Kenedy Subs: Woodman, Clark, Sterry, Roberts, Longstaff, Atsu, Shelvey. Backup to subs, aka players who should have been sold by now: Manquillo, Murphy, Hayden Backup to backup subs: Rozzazinho, Tranquillo Barnetta, Jimmy Nail Last resort: Malcolm Macdonald, Kevin Keegan, Wyn 'The Leap' Davies. Red Button: Joselu.
