Mane fuming over fake taunts Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is fuming over comments attributed to him regarding the Premier League title race reports James Pearce. The Senegal international woke up on Wednesday morning to read that he had apparently ‘taunted rivals Manchester City’. “This is not a team of chokers. We will be champions. I am sure we will be champions of England,” Mane was quoted as saying by a national newspaper which was subsequently picked up by a host of websites. However, Mane is adamant that he said no such thing and that the quotes aren’t genuine.
Iino didn't think so and it was so close that he wouldn't have been able to tell... So not a clear and obvious mistake Didn't work for the Kane one though and that was more offside than this one
Shearer canning the VAR . I can't see what else the VAR "referee" could have given. It is a matter of fact. Like the Goal line system. It does not matter whether it is 1.2 metres or 1.2 mm. If the ball has not crossed the line as shown by the system, then a goal cannot be given. This is what happened with us against City. Once the VAR is brought into play then the chap looking at it has no choice than to implement what it shows. The VAR clearly showed that the guy was offside. Albeit by just a few inches. That's fact and not subject to interpretation. If both defender and striker were on the invisible line and could not be separated yes may be the striker could be given the benefit of the doubt. But not in this case. Shearer was simply wrong and talking out of his hat.
I didnt see the slurs game or goal that was alledgedly offside, but been told it was. So is it not still down to interpretation from var ref if it is or not offside? And if its blatant he was offside but similar scenario not given is the var ref then accountable? If not why not? Managers and players are but refs dont seem to be, which is wrong, and can easily be manipulated
the only way to be slightly objective is to make all players wear a chip on their chest and report back using that. use ball chip to calculate if ball what back or forward.
plus would need info from ball of the exact moment the ball is kicked and the player to wear a full body suit with multiple sensors to accurately determine the exact position of all relevants points of body . This system is already in use and has been shown to work. The successful trial was carried out in FIFA18 and is still continuing in FIFA19.
Come on. The frame can be frozen at the time the ball is kicked and the various positions of the attackers and defenders (and their limbs etc) located on the screen. No need for expensive technology...
in the millisecond that changes from non contact to contact on the ball a player changes from onside to offside. Oh a frame cannot be frozen at any time as shown in cricket .
And that still comes down to interpretation ie from 4th umpire. The bat was grounded etc. Interestingly ive never seen that issue with a stumping. Only on run outs.
If it is in line or LOOKS in line then benefit of the doubt goes to the attacker. This one was not even in doubt.
Frame frozen at contact with the ball. The players' positions at that time assessed. If in line then no offside. If visibly forward even by a few cms/inches, then offside. Not difficult . No need for complicated sophisticated technology. If in doubt, give benefit to attacker. No brainer
yeah its working really well so far oh and the bold bit is where the problem lies as it is , including by you , being treated as a matter of fact which is provable and i would argue that is at best arguable .
" A player is in an offside position if, when the ball is played by a team-mate, they are nearer to the opposition's goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent. " In line means he is not nearer...
crazy thought... make referee make the decisions. give managers a couple of reviews in game and if they are.proved right tjey keep them. if found time wasting (completely spurious) they concede a penalty let the team affected by call decide to review or not. a pen shout turned down.. a red card etc. right now... tjere could in theory be 10 var calls in a game.
I read this a while ago on the FA website and it is quite confusing If players are level, they are onside. But as soon as an attacker becomes closer to the goal-line than the second last defender, he is in an offside position.
