Nope - you keep missing the point - VAR will not make the game perfect - nothing will - but VAR will improve the percentage of correct decisions based on the rules as drafted ... and it is accountable ... which refs have not been ... last night is a good example - a strict interpretation of the rules shows that the Derby goal was technically offside - that doesn't matter whether it's Derby or Man United playing - the strict interpretation comes up with the same correct decision <ok>

True fans want to see some ****..playing out his whole life scenario when he scores a goal like celebrating his baby...praying to God...serenading his WAG in the crowd whilst doing some shadow boxing with the corner flag....In between some ****ty dance routine...yeah that's part of the game...that's football.

Oops I need another few minutes just chucked my shirt into the crowd...bare with me just getting booked..ohh hang on..shirts dirty...ill run off to the bench and put another one on...right we are good to go lads

    But VAR wastes time

All of that is the players showing their joy at scoring for the team, it's lifts the fans and is deffo part of the game.

But there was a time when all that wasn't necessary for the 'fans to feel uplifted'...Alan Shearer's goals were just as uplifting I'm sure but took a quarter of the time to celebrate.

    Bollocks <laugh>

Jimmy Greaves - most prolific English goalscorer - didn't 'lift the fans' because he merely raised his arm and ran back to the half-way line after each goal?

I'm missing your point here, are you saying that var will stop long goal celebrations? <confused>

No one has said var wastes time, we've said it slows the game down which isn't up for debate.

Do you think Derby wanted a long celebration after making it 2-1 last night or do you think they wanted to get going again as quickly as possible?

I think everyone against it is using that as a reason to some extent or another...or maybe Ive just been talking to myself.

I clarified in that post, slows the game down, not wastes time.

You didn't answer my second point.

Raising arms is a waste of time and should be reviewed by VAR and punishments applied.

Nope - you are correct - it will apparently disrupt the flow of the game much more than play acting and ****y ***** goal celebrations can <doh>

Re...second point...we can't always have what we want. Wether they wanted to start quickly or not...things have to be seen to be done properly from the refs perspective.

Will you vilify your player for hogging the ball in the net in order to avoid a quick KO once a team pulls one back against you?

All our players do it...all the fans embrace it.

6 minutes review time, 14 different camera angles and 7 different speeds to check if the raised arm was in fact a Nazi salute.
