Vestergaard seemed to spend all evening wandering away from his man. He caused panic in the defence more than a few times. Thought Ramsey did ok for a youngster, but Ely ..... oh dear me .... please bring back Boufal - at least he’s got some skill.
Also, sadly, think Sam Gallagher is not up to this level. And can someone please show Cedric how to cross a ball?

 

Yeah, he was just pumped up (unsurprisingly) and pulled out of a few tackles after the card. What I liked last night (which wasn’t a lot) was that (if my maths is right) 50% of our squad were academy players. Hopefully the younger ones will learn about not giving up a two goal lead .....

 

I like the Coupe de France. 8,506 entrant teams (to put it in perspective the FA cup had 736 this year), the competition is open to any one from France's overseas territories so can have African club teams playing against French teams. Think a team from Reunion got pretty far in it recently

Re: Cedric. Gives away far too many cheap free kicks in dangerous positions. Derby scored their first from one these. They almost got a winner from another one late in the game. Both needless challenges.

 

Got to admit that my patience has run out with Cedric now too, he has regressed this season after a couple of improved seasons and we should try and get what we can for him now before his stock is not too damaged.

 

I don't mind Cedric, what he lacks in defence he makes up for in attack, one of few exciting attacking players we have. Agreed he didn't have the best of games though.

On the other hand Ely is looking more and more like a waste of money, doesn't seem to be able to get past players and his passing keeps going astray. Maybe he's my scapegoat but i find myself groaning about things he does more than anyone. I'm hoping it's just a confidence thing and he will improve.

 

Talk abobut watching 3rd round matches!! I think the last FA Cup match I saw was the FA final between Pompey and Chelsea. Horrible result!! Sincé then nada, as I have had very Little interest in the competition until our local teams get to finals.

There was a bit of agro reported, it seems that it was a Forest supporter in Itchen North getting involved with the Derby fans!

 

Elyounoussi has been so disappointing. I just looked at the footage of his game for Basel against City last season, i cant believe it was him in the video.
He needs to start showing something quickly or he'll be out.......... i think the latter.

 

I can’t agree on Cedric’s attacking prowess. He never beats his man and can’t cross or shoot. He runs forward fast; that’s about it for me.

 

Could Ely's problems be down to being in a new country, new league etc. I look at him and see a player with a decent footballing brain but not the confidence to back up any decision he has made. I feel he hesitates too much or panics and takes the easy option without thinking if it's the right one.

 

I do keep thinking that but then I see him play in the flesh and I realise he's just not very good.

 

But could his lack of quality be a symptom of a lack of confidence or being shackled by previous training structures rather than him lacking the talent to step up to the PL. I guess I'm still hoping that there's a player there.
