My favourites are the 3-2 against Sheff Utd and the 4-3 against Norwich, both of which have been mentioned already. One of the most eventful games I think I have seen was the 1-1 against Arsenal in 2005 towards the end of the season, everything seeme dto happen, 2 red cards (Prutton pushing the linesman), goals, chances, saves, and Ashley Cole's injury time goal being disallowed
For me the 3-2 vs Arsenal, Campbell got sent off and the Niemi triple save! Arsenal were decent at that point as well.
Yeah that remains the loudest cheer I've ever heard for a goal ever anywhere, will never forget it. The Newcastle 3-3 game was a cracker too, though didn't mean anything to either side so took a bit of the edge off it
Also beating Barnsley 5-2, since I'd put a cheeky few quid on the scoreline at 150-1. And had been ridiculed by some away fans when I told them about the bet in the pub beforehand...
mine is very close fought between the game rob mentioned - 3-2 vs Arsenal with the Arse in top form back then and they played some great stuff but beatts thundered a great free kick, Niemi had that legendary triple save (which got me more excited than some of the goals) and then to top it off who bundled in the winner? yes mr birthday himself. other is THAT Pahars goals against the skates which i agree with everyone i have never heard SMS arupt like that before or since, people went ballistic. combination i think of a great goal, the meaning it had and the player who scored it. the pahars goal meant more but for all round entertainment the Arse game shades it as best SMS game ever for me. although i didnt go to Norwich game i really missed out and wish i had gone.
Macca & Feathers..! Still don't quite know what that's about. EDIT: Just remembered co-commentator Trevor Brooking's comment about Saints around about the 80th minute of the 4-0. He said something like... They are just toying with Spurs now. Some of their play is absolutely fantastic.
Hi guys, highlights of some of the great games people have been mentioning! Best match I ever saw wasn't a Saints one, but back in my Uni days. Exeter 4 - Reading 6. Exeter were 1-4 down at half time. They pulled it back to 4 all, just to lose it 4-6. Even though my adopted team lost, you couldn't walk away from the ground unhappy that evening, having seen a classic match. Two weeks later Exeter won 6-4. I saw that one too.
For sheer excitement and the importance of the result, this game against Sheff Utd to stay up in 2008 is my favourite...
But why must the Youtube video have bloody music over the top of a perfectly good soundtrack..? Not knocking you there, SA.
