yes. you are absolutely right. that was her gamble to avoid doing it. she lost the 50 seat majority she was chasing and at that point she should have gone all party.
May is all but begging them to vote her out today. She's doing everything that people say she shouldn't. Its very much do it my way still.
Ken clarke Tory MP and Father of the House Ken Clarke says he listened to the "extraordinary range of views" expressed by MPs during the Brexit debate, and that it is obvious the only clear cross-party majorities in the House are "against leaving with no-deal, in favour of extending Article 50 to give more time, and in favour of a customs union". He asks if the prime minister will accept that she must "modify her red lines" and find a cross-party majority for a Brexit plan "which will be along the lines that I have indicated". Theresa May says Article 50 cannot be extended by the UK as it has to be extended in consultation and agreement with the EU. She says the EU would only extend Article 50 "if it is clear there was a plan moving towards an agreed deal". ................... Basically saying shut the **** up about the tory party... nobody cares. Get on with finding something 320 MPs of whatever party to agree on. Go back to EU with it and beg for time to negotiate along those lines. in other words.. sideline all tory hardliners, extend article 50 and beg to be in some customs union (which is basically what the bloody backstop is) In other words again... get enough labour votes on side to push through realy close ties to europe. (and by extension why not just stay in as theres more benefits to that!!!)
now...... my favourite part of the day is coming up. Yes in these tumultuous times there is a bill going through house. Believe it or not we the commons will pause after PM questions and before a no confidence vote which is delaying any all party discussions on Plan z.... to have a vote on a bill to ban low letter boxes.
I see some tory **** just snuck in two bills just to have them ready on a referendum for eu and preparations for a referendum.. yet more things to shuffle through doors casting votes on. They should get some sheepdogs to herd them now.
I didn't like the ****ers when I was a paper boy. Didn't like the vertical ones on the side of doors either
So glad we're getting rid of the EU red tape like human rights so we can focus on taking our high letter boxes back
So we've a dog at home. I hate the thing. I'm going to call it brexit form now on. a) it constantly wants to get out. b) when you open the back door it timidly sniffs the air... frightened of how cold and nasty its out there c) when it goes out and you shut the door it batters and claws as the door to get back in. you've got to leave the door open of the stupid thing will panic.
It actually is... i hate that dog. bought it for someone who then didn't want it. I cant be seen walking it. Got a west highland terrier. pure white and pure bred etc. cost quite a bit and person turned round after years saying we wouldnt get them dog that it was "too small"
BTW David Davies is absolutely hammering the PM in particular and blaming her for everything in some scrutiny committee. I would not be so sure 100% of tories are lined up to kill this no confidence. He's said she conceded too quick on the exit money (conveniently forgetting that eu clearly stated you do the exit money and irish question first or theres no more progress) that she started ordering people to stop helping him so much etc etc.
