Good Morning Everyone According to Sky Sports journalist, Tim Thornton, Leeds United are keeping an eye on Bristol City winger Callum O’Dowda as Marcelo Bielsa is looking to bolster his attacking options. This was also confirmed by Phil Hay! When a fan asked him about the veracity of the news, Hay responded by saying ‘yes’. However, he added that Swansea City winger Daniel James remains the first priority target for the Yorkshire club. Kiko Casilla has arrived in Leeds and will undertake a medical this afternoon. The 32 yo shot stopper had 18 months left on his contract at the Bernabeu which Leeds have bought out. This equates to £50,000 a week. Should Casilla start against Stoke at the weekend or should he prove himself first? Stuart Pearce has told Sky Sports that the scoreline v Derby should be reversed due to spygate! Talking on The Debate show on Sky Sports, Pearce said he would reverse the 2-0 scoreline. “If it was me, the only team that’s been affected by this is Derby, I’d reverse the scoreline,” Pearce said. “I like let the punishment fit the crime. That statement fits this perfectly. If you sent someone all the way down to stand outside Derby and then after the game you said, yes I sent him down, well okay, you won 2-0 at derby, it affected Derby, it’s not in the spirit of the game.” Pearce was then asked if he honestly believed that the game and the result was down to the “man in the bushes”. “No, not at all,” he replied.
Morning, evening all, This talk of wingers! is it just me or are any of you wondering why wingers when we have Jack Clarke, I know he can't do it all. Am I getting too suspicious and seeing demons where there aren't any I worry about him being transferred to the PL in this window and these new wingers being replacements for Him and Saiz. If we sign Casilla I would expect him on the bench for the Stoke match, by the way does anybody know how many of their first team played last night in their loss to Shrewsbury. Stuart Pearce hasn't ever been the sharpest knife in the draw, bless
Heard a great discussion last night between Phil hay and the Sky Spanish footy expert who told Phil that Casilla would walk into any of the top clubs in Spain's La Liga. He rates him as being in the top 5 Spanish keepers which includes De Gea. That makes me feel warm and fuzzy because he is deffo one for the Prem and a long term investment who can help BPF Think enough has been said on Spygate and the media are just trying to keep it going.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull Bardsey Well we know Kiki has arrived and hopefully will sign today and I think he will play on Sat why pay someone 50k a week and put him on the bench Dan James appears to be our next signing and I would like Doc to provide a video please Saw Mowatt on Sat on Quest he appears to have got his mojo back again and seemed to have settled at Barnsley which I am pleased at
Morning all. Sick of spygate same as that other nonsense thats been running for two years over in the UK. Hope parliament dont get involved or itll never be sorted
According to the Sun today Bielsa told Pep that Clarke was not available at any price... I think the switch to wingers is that Hernandez now replaces Saiz as Number 10 so then we’re looking for a replacement for Hernandez on the wing. Maybe they’ve found it easier to find replacement wingers than 10?
Afternoon all As for the keeper signing at the weekend I would guess it might be game after as Bielsa will have to see if he’s up to his level of fitness (but he was on the bench at the weekend) and also get him up to speed with Leeds defence and way of playing. But then equally he has said that good players can instantly fit in a team... Either way IBWT! As for Pearce; great player, failed manager IBWT
Hearing that Sam Dalby is going out on loan to get experience. Would like to hear the full reasons for this as Sam was one of the big signings last year by Orta. He has been brilliant in phases for the U23s so Im hoping this is in the best interests of the player and the club. Maybe Edmondson, Clarke and Kun are now the big 3 for the kids?
I think you can take that with a large grain of salt and for two reasons 1 Its the Sun 2 Its not Bielsas decision to make. Owners agents finances player etc all will determine that unfortunately. Promotion is only thing that gives us a real chance of keeping him in the long term
Totally agree with 1 As for 2 if that quote is true would agree that it’s only valid for this window or if we get promoted
Well that confirms my thinking about Stuart Pearce. Reverse the score, now surely that would be illegal.
Bielsa actually said this directly... Pablo is Saiz replacement, so need winger as Pablo replacement. Whether alioski ends up competing with Douglas rather than a new winger, I think re wingers it’s good to have a balance of attributes. Alioski gives tremendous work ethic and has good feet, good ball retention etc... but doesn’t put defenders on the back foot and offer a direct running and bi-line threat - in the way that Clarke does and James, for example, appears to. Certain games and certain situations in games will suit different types of player... and until Clarke, we’ve been missing that kind of defence stretching threat.
Morning all, Anyone know if the new 'keeper speaks english? Might be a factor that determines if he plays or not. Communication is essential at the back.
Looking like the Dan James deal is collapsing which makes sense because why would one of the favs for promotion help someone to beat them to promotion. O'Dowd is now a thing as attention focused in Bristol now
