There was a Blackburn poster who used to frequent one of our old forums, Copy Nooker was his name. He was one of the most tedious turds to ever inflict himself on anyone. Anyway, tonight I hope he's happy.
Good win and good to see Longstaff play his part. Roberts continues his scoring form and clearly showed our1st team forwards how to score.
Wow, got there in the end but made hard work of that. Some major worries there though, Longstaff's got through 310 mins of football in the last 3 days and is going to be shattered for Cardiff, same with Ritchie minus 10 mins, really hope Diame is back because with Hayden picking up a knock we may have to use others in the CM. Injuries are mounting up just when you don't want them to and another game vs Watford now is hardly what we need but got to be pleased with going through. Positives - We scored 4 goals - FOUR! when did that last happen? Longstaff and Roberts' were well taken and that will boost the lads confidence, same with Ayoze. Thought Sterry looked decent - way better than Manquillo so hopefully will jump above him in the pecking order. Fernandez and Schar got some good mins under the belt so hopefully even with Lacselles out and possibly Clark we will have those 2 and Lejuene fit. We won - massive for the confidence get the lads up for Cardiff.
No point in worrying about protecting the team for the league in my opinion. What for...chasing the pot of gold that is 17th in the Premier League!? We may as well at least try to have a bit of fun on a cup run.
Was just thinking this! The next round vs Watford is next Saturday and we have City the following Tuesday where we will sit in and try and keep the scoreline down - can we go and have a go against Watford? Beat Cardiff and Watford them all of a sudden your on a three game winning run and a game away from a QF which will generate a buzz in the dressing room, confidence feeds confidence etc. Don't worry I'll rip it off the BBC in good time for Cardiff
It's all too easy to get enraged with the current NUFC, but by God wasn't it nice to see some goals and attacking football for a ****ing change? I get they're really limited players, but we look much better trying to go for it against similar/lower opposition than what happened at 2-0 when we sat back (as usual). I get it against big teams, you want discipline and the odd result (which we can no longer get). But Blackburn, particularly the first match at home? That's crying out to be a confidence-boosting 3-0, break the home hoodoo, get the crowd onside and show some intent. He really fcked up in the first tie. My worry is it's going to be picking the same safety-first formation, don't lose at all costs.
Well Roberts, Sterry, Woodman and Longstaff should be now considered first team squad members . I personally would play Sterry and Longstaff and have Roberts and Woodman on bench.
