Well that is a relief, he has openly stated that after signing Keough Leeds are not looking at anymore strikers:

Nile ranger honestly would have been of a waist of signing. the lads work rate seems poor and he has issues of the pitch and terrible attitude problems but we really should have gone out and signed another striker. andy keogh docent have a good strike rate and we can't be relying on billy painter

We can rely on Becchio and McCormack though, judging by Luciano's record last season and McCormack's excellent form going into this one. In Keogh's instance, you're right, he doesn't score many goals, but if he's played up front with a striker, he does the dirty work and helps set many of the goalscoring chances up. With Paynter, I'm not convinced by all the hysteria. He wasn't fit last season, as proven by the fact he only started and finished one game (in which he played well and scored, incidentally).

So I don't think there are any problems for us in the striker department unless there's another long term injury. The priorities (as always!) have to be defence (CB, LB) and central midfield. The core of he team, in other words.

    Welcome, by the way! :)

Given Becchio does a lot of the hard work to get the ball placed for scorers (and scores too), do you think Keogh can play alongside him? I wonder if they are too similar and one would have to be dropped for the other.

Keogh and Becchio wouldn't work, they are too similar in style and always look to find the ball and then hold it, there would be nobody in the box to score goals.

Becchio's always in the box and scoring. Keogh would be redundant though, since Becchio does the ****work and scores goals. May as well play McCormack with him if you believe in the 4-4-2. Found it laughable that Eddie Gray was trying to make out Keogh could replace Gradel on the wing the other day. He's good for being a donkey, winning headers and setting people up, but little else.

you never know Boab, Becchio may thrive having someone else doing there fair share of the graft, although I see your point <ok>
