Ralph but that's not the debate, I'm just saying it's a bit early in his career to be claiming that though fwiw I think he is the real deal (and will prove to be better) and am looking forward to seeing what we look like next season especially. Would you rather have Ralph or Silva?
Ralph. There are very few managers I’d rather have in charge than him. Poch/Pep/Klopp and they’re all kinda equal in my mind (to having him).
I think that Poch can rightly take credit for taking the bulk of Nigel's team and making them fitter and introducing a few Academy players to play a potent mix of high energy, exciting football, he can't take all or that much of the credit for the following two seasons after he left IMO.
But you wouldn't have said that 6 months ago and I'd wager a lot of people hadn't heard of him. There's also the emotional connection now which is why I also wouldn't really swap him for anyone. I thought you didn't rate Klopp, might have been someone else?

I do think he was improving us and would have kept us up but ultimately wouldn't have lasted much longer.
Yes I think we would have, maybe we should have anyway. The 7th season was definitely better than the 6th one (we definitely should have been top 4 then). Just think (with hindsight) he should have pressed on while the other top 4/5 teams had a massive meltdown. I guess my overall point is that it's more about the players, and that squad was sooooo dreamy.
Agreed, didn't we only concede something like 30-32 goals all season? We scored plenty too! Looking back I think the Europa starting in July didn't help us in our second season.
