One of those ones that you sort of feel aggrieved by when it's you but you know going in like that is always risking a red now.

 

yeah, last gasp glory tackles are red now if you touch the player after winning the ball, mot that I should complain, that's exactly how my ankle got wrecked.

 

Why make a tackle like that in that position, though? Totally unnecessary.

Conversely you could merely call it committed, he wasn’t over the top of the ball and won it clean. I don’t think he had any intention to harm his opponent there, and for me that’s what a straight red is.

 

If anything the earlier one was worse, as his intention was to stop the break by fouling his man, the ball was largely irrelevant, that attacking move was stopping there.
