Watford striker Jerome Sinclair's loan spell at Sunderland has been cut short and the 21-year-old Englishman will now return to his parent club.

He didn't exactly set the fans alight up there although the club thought well of him.

Speaking about his time at the club, manager Jack Ross said: “Jerome has been a credit to himself and his club Watford in his time here.

“I cannot speak highly enough of him and how he has applied himself during his loan spell and as I club we have conveyed this to Watford.

“Everyone at Sunderland AFC wishes Jerome the very best in the next stage of his career.”

We'll just have to hope that Luke O'Nien scores in their home game against L*t*n today - either an injury time winner or one in a complete hiding.

Chris agreed it will be possibly 18 months out of date at companies house, but I can't imagine a business getting a good deal from their main bank.

Debt funds often cover very low risk investments with very low overheads, and their use would be seen as a good sign. Raising the money through equity can attract much higher costs. But if you want to pay really high costs go to your bank. Of course there are many grey areas in the gloomy world of finance ,especially when it comes to collateral, but I see no reason for concern :emoticon-0157-sun:

Whose French is good enough to give us the actual translation from this Doucoure interview today? Think he is just chatting the obvious that he will at some time leave Watford, he hasn't heard from PSG and he has ambition to play Champions League and play for France. Something like that:

He did one earlier in the week saying he was flattered by the link but happy to stay at Watford.

So Troy isn't our only TV/radio pundit at the club then!?

Interesting.... sounds quite diplomatic...… and of course no timing..... but clearly his ambition is to play at an even higher level

  13. Can't blame him really. All you can hope is that players with his level of ambition take the chance we offer them and help us benefit during their time with us. He hasn't anything to prove in that respect.

Duncan Welbourne (28 July 1940 – 14 January 2019) was an English professional football player, coach and manager. Born in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, he began his career as an amateur at Scunthorpe United.[1] He started his professional career at Grimsby, as a wing half. In November 1963 he transferred to Watford, for a fee of £1,300.[2] At Watford he converted to a full back, when the club started playing in a 4–4–2 formation.[2] Welbourne set what was then a Watford record of 457 competitive appearances, breaking the 35-year-old record previously held by Tommy Barnett. His 280 consecutive Football League games remains a record.[2] After finishing third in the club's inaugural Player of the Season award in 1972–73,[3] Welbourne left Watford on a free transfer at the end of the 1973–74 season. He joined Southport, where he finished his playing career. He also took on a coaching role, and managed the team between September 1975 and January 1976.[2]

Welbourne died on the morning of 14 January 2019, as confirmed by Watford.[4]

Like many I grew up to this man.... he was Watford to me in those early days....
