Now the transfer window has shut, we can solely focus on achieving our goals on the pitch rather than worrying about £40m+ bids coming in for Modric and and we should have signed etc (well at least untill January I suppose!) So I ask my fellow lilywhites, what your Predictions, Hopes and Expectations for the season ahead. I'll start with: Expectations: Achieving at least 5th place in the league, beat the "smaller" (with all due respect) opposition teams which we stuffed up against so much last season and to at least reach the quarter finals of ALL the cups we're participating in. Hopes: Ledley can get and keep fit for 20+ games, see Modric knuckle down and produce the magic he's capable of doing and also for him to commit to the club, Adebayor to score a hat-trick against the scum, perhaps some silverware (Europa maybe?), try to get in the top 4 again. and to sign a top draw centre back in January if we're still leaking goals. Predictions: 4th (though will be so tight!) after pipping Liverpool and goons to the spot with Utd, City and Chelsea the top 3.
I know you have only played the two Manchester teams so far, but they were far from a top 4 performance.
Exactly mate, looking back at last season, some of the points we dropped last year really cost us. The likes of the home games against Wigan, West Ham, Blackpool and Sunderland, we really should be taking no less than 3 points from them. Lucas you're absolutely right the City game more so than the Utd game we looked awful, hopefully that was an early season blip and we'll kick on. I think the game against you guys in a couple of weeks will be huge
My Prediction & Expectation: We will finish in 5th, above Arsenal but below 'Pool. My Hope: (1) We finish above 'Pool, in 4th, and (2) Adebayor to win the Golden Boot.
It is huge, I remember 3 years ago you had a terrible start and you just found form (against Arsenal I think) before you played us. I remember you beat us in that game...just one of our two games we lost that year. However, a loss for either side can be damaging to the campaign this year. I expect a lot of banter in the build up threads for this game.

Expectations: Good football would be at the top of my list, but a top half finish, and qualification for Europe through one means or another. Hopes: A tighter defense than has been thus far witnessed so Gallas or King to be fit enough so that Daws doesn't have to do it all on his own, Gomes to claw back some form and oust BF from the no. 1 spot, Benny to stop pissing about on the edge of the area, Walker to supplement his fine form going forward with his defensive position and make the RB spot his own, Bale and Lennon to play to their potential, Sandro to return as good as before he got injured, Modric to forget everything but what made him so attractive a proposition to other teams and replicate those performances, Huddlestone to give us another option and not let his head drop now he's dropped out of the first eleven, SP to be somewhere near good enough to justify his inclusion rather than just because he's a good character, VDV to lose a bit of the frustration he's been displaying now he's first choice up front and to play more 90 minute games JD to rise to the challenge of EA and keep him out of the team, and to learn to play off VDV and the offside rule EA to score some goals when needed All the rest to sit tight for their chances and play bloody well to get themselves into the league squads not just the cup squads. Predictions: 6th behind the Arse, Pool, Chavs, Blue Mancs and Red Mancs, and an exodus of talent in January/next Summer but on our terms and with DAMN GOOD replacements already lined up so no ****ing about come deadline day (take note Mr. Levy)
