I still like the cricket despite the cheats (I don’t think it makes that much difference) but the last sporting event I really enjoyed was the Olympics. Which had plenty of cheats as well. Too much money in everything.

Rugby union is undoubtedly a much better game at the top level than it was in the pre professional era. But my son was telling me 6 years ago about the drugs some boys (many of whom were on the books of Saints and Warriors) were taking at his big rugby playing school to bulk themselves up. He was more interested in recreational substances and only played in the First XV a couple of times, because he wasn’t big enough. My kidney consultant was telling me a couple of months ago of the number of young rugby players he sees with ****ed kidneys because of steroid use. It’s scary, and not worth it.
And that's apart from the physical damage they are doing with some of the hits they take, the intensity of the the game is unrecognisable from the days I played around 50 years ago. Two seasons with Streatham Croydon Colts as a scrawny fly-half was enough for me but I'd never have got that far these days...
For those who's saying the United players need to have a long hard look in the mirror, there's only one who needs it and that is Mourinho himself. Just goes to show how poisonous Mourinho was. He sucked every bit of confidence, pride & passion from every single one of those players. Don't think Mourinho will get another top job after what's happened at United.
Yep, though a bit of professional pride alone should have had Pogba et al doing a bit better. It’s hard in any job to give anything like your best when your boss is a knob.
