When we signed Sissoko we knew what he brought to the club after seeing him at Newcastle. So questioned what he offered us.

We know what Grealish has so surely he has uses in various games, whether as a sub or starter.

I was responding to Henrico likening the two.
I do not rate Grealish but if we signed him I would hope he'd be a success and would never get on his case at games...the fans stuck with the team today...in the past some could/would have gone for Trippier and Eriksen.
I remember Chris Armstrong getting a **** deal from some of our fans at matches

You said that about Sissoko :1980_boogie_down:

If I trust any coach to improve him, it’s Poch.

It may have been a mistake not to sign him but I still trust Levy and Pochettino to make fewer mistakes than any other Chairman and Manager in the PL. Everyone makes mistakes, the most successful people make fewer. You can't have Levy and Pochettino with fewer mistakes, you can only have someone worse.

Do you not rate him as a player or person though? IIRC, I'm sure it was you (apologies if not, thus tell me to shut up, lol) who said you thought he was a dick due to his previous antics with booze/ drugs etc.

Must admit - and I know I've been OTT with the Grealish love-in for comical reasons (or at least I try being comical <laugh>) - but I think he's a very good young player playing in a very poor side and is someone who could be moulded into a fine player with Poch's guidance. Grealish has similarities with both Dembele (in the way he can ghost past players without ever being blessed with speed) and Alli (with his flair and confidence to try things) and I just think with a better coach and better players around him, he'd be a huge asset to the right club.

Sissoko's hardly a unique case, though: Lamela and Rose took a couple of seasons to click, while Aurier certainly hasn't gelled no matter how often the lunatic fringe hold him up as a stick to beat Trippier with.

A bit of both TBH...but mainly cos he has done next to nothing in the past few years to suggest he will progress...he reminds me of Lee Hendry TBH... great to begin with then it went to his head, then it messed him up and he went down hill.
If we buy him I hope I am proved wrong...and TBH on a human level I hope so too.

Signing players who are better than the ones we have will make us better. Liverpool had very weak players in crucial positions which were easy to strengthen and have a forward line which is doing very well. It is a lot harder to strengthen our team, we don't even all agree who the weak players are.....

How much have they spent? I repeat this is not a digital game you cannot ignore the realities of where we are in our development. I am an old man and I have less time and more patience than you a young man who will see the long term benefits of what Levy is doing.
Plus FFS I have waited since the early 1960's to see Spurs at this level again so shut TFU and have some patience young man. <badger>

Lamela was unfortunate. He was ruined by AVB who didn't give hin a run. Even after he had been excellent in a match he was dropped knocking his confidence.

Henrico? LOL, that's a new one.

If i was likening the 2 then it was only in terms of Poch improving him to the requisite level, not the time it would take to do so.

I haven't watched him as much this season as I had last, but last season he was excellent when he returned from injury. Dictating absolutely everything of Villa's forward play, was very impressive for such a young player to be doing that in my opinion. It's why I really do believe that under Poch - a master of improving young English talent - he could be a very, very good midfielder. He himself said in an interview if he joined us he'd likely be playing for England, I like that sort of confidence in a player and for what it's worth, I'd also agree with him.
