I think the bitter taste of defeat colours peoples views. Whether you like it or not injuries are down to chance and luck. Signing players is not the answer to everything, this is not a digital game we are talking real people who take time to adjust and in fact can be a liability rather than an asset until they get used to their new team. Everytime we have a bad result the same old arguments are rehearsed Levy's fault etc, etc. Pochettino has said on many occasions it is about finding the right players it's just not as simple as some seem to think. For all the money United have spent we still probably have a better squad than them it's just a cheap way to rationalise a loss.
There were easily at least 2 shots probably more that DeGea showed why he's considered the best. He had a great day and made that result to our cost. We move on.

On the bright side; we all love to see the academy products play. Looks like we're going to have ample opportunity now.

True, however with so many players playing very deep into the last world cup the probability of many of them getting injured was always going to be high. And because of that players that wouldn't have normally played so much are also being run into the ground.

Maybe I am being harsh on Eriksen but I am just trying to point out that Trippier was not the only player to not deliver in the first half...on another day with better finishing our wait in the week long Wembley tube line would have been a lot more fun!

Then not really a matter of luck, more of Spurs own making.
De Gea is a class GK, and he wasn't really worked with the
    attempts made.

I agree and that's the problem of success in sport, look at Andy Murray in tennis. United, City , Chelsea can go out and spend 100 million on a player for us that is more difficult. Levy is trying to even things up with new stadium, but it doesn't happen over night. Instead of moaning about Levy we should be thanking him for his long term thinking to put Spurs at the top. In the middle of this transformation I think it's pathetic to be moaning about transfers, Pathetic!!!

Tranmere was FA Cup which is a totally different competition as you are aware. Teams have reached the final and been relegated because often cup form and league form are two different things........NOT garbage. I expressed my concerns about our form after the Cardiff match when we dried up for 65 minutes. If you can't see the weakness because of that then I'm sorry. How did we beat Chelsea? Penalty.

Short-term success is something that earns retweets, long-term planning isn't

    That's the problem.

When you're close to both getting over the line but at the same time potentially seeing the best squad in years disintegrate it's absolute lunacy to not strengthen at all. That's what's pathetic!!

It did not work well when we sold Bale!
It did not work well for united...or Fulham etc.
Feel gutted after watching us lose that...we have played far far worse and won easily...
OT springs to mind for starters.

Perhaps you are not taking into account that Pochettino is ahead of the game plan. Again he has explained very clearly what he was asked to do. Deliver a top 4 team to the new stadium, he has exceeded his brief and the club is not in the position it wanted to be at this time it is doing better than that. Our problem is success not failure.

    What success?

Top 4 and bigger revenue isn’t success in my opinion and I’m sure Kane, Eriksen and others won’t stick around unless we start actually winning things.

I agree with everything you say but not strengthening at all sends out the wrong message to our own players. It says we're happy to maintain the status quo. And there'll be players in our squad that will be getting to the age where they want to earn more more and win trophies. They're not going to wait until the master plan comes to fruition. They know, as well as the fans, how close we are to achieving something.

Ironically, injuries have forced Pochettino to rotate the squad much better.
You cannot legislate for the CM/DM injury plague though (apart from
perhaps Dembele coming to the end of his PL time) .

We could in principle have outbid Liverpool for Keita or Fabinho, Chelsea for Kovacic or Jorginho, Man Utd for Fred or Arsenal for Torreira or Guendozi. If we had got two of those and sold Dembele and Wanyama then most likely Sissoko and Winks would not have played and it's not obvious we'd have got more points. It's really hard to get better from where we are even with money to spend.
