There were a few rumours flying around in the Away End yesterday that Peterborough are restricting us to under 1,500 in a fortnights time Charlton social media whore Henry Irving helpfully took this up directly with the Peterborough United chairman, and received a prompt & excellent reply
Your geography is even worse than your leg wear. Peterborough is half the trip of those that you mention, and our fan base is buoyed by a promotion wave of euphoria.
A victory for Charlton social media whore Henry Irving (see above). Following conversations between big fat Henners and the Peterborough chairman yesterday, Posh have today increased the Charlton away allocation to 2,300 Poor ticket judges like @baraettmattesvensson predicted that we would not sell many...we have in fact already sold 1,500 away tickets for this must win game, with another 800 about to follow. This proves again, you don't need to WIOTOS when the real Henry Irving is on the case
but we were only given 2,381 away tickets for the match? and not all of those were sold as of midday on Thursday? On the plus side the big red bus is only £18
They will sell a lot today at the Valley, and could have sold more IMO. The Peterborough Chairman has told me that he is willing to give us more if required.
In some ways. He charges £26 for just about the worst away facilities in the league - wooden benches for seats in a dilapidated 1930s Stand, and with toilets the size of a telephone box (normally flooded with urine by 2.30)
This is now set up to be a memorable away day. Fortunately I secured one of the last remaining tickets. I asked the pleasant young lady in our Ticket office if we would be asking for more, knowing full well that we could sell 3,000 for this match...and was told “no”.
