Having come back from what was easily the most complete performance I've seen City manage in the Championship since we did Leeds a few years back, I'd just like to give praise to our captain and midfield organiser.

He has brought Batty on in leaps and bounds and, now that Keviniesta has finally shown up to the party, must surely be given credit for bringing him along as well.

He isn't a shouty, screamy kind of captain, but he's irreplaceable at the moment.

So Bordeaux can shove that up their de la Bourse.

When he first came I thought he was rubbish.
I even thought he hid from the ball and had no bottle.

I now think he’s very good and keeps the team ticking
I also like his attitude with the crowd. He seems genuinely chuffed when we win and seems to like sharing that

Well he's had to adapt, he has come from playing as a CAM for AZ and for Norway and was played mostly as a CM during his time here. Adkins obviously decided to actually give him the training needed to help the transition, because this is easily the best he has played for us. He's one of the senior pros and he's only 26. I think he'll be a major player for us for a few seasons.

Think he is going at the end of his current contract as he wants to bring his family up in his native country.

We haven’t even triggered his additional year, he could sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club this month.

He could, but I don't think he will.

If Boy Blunder gets his finger out as other than a one year extension his contract is up this season. Apologies should have scrolled down.

There is a strong case that Henriksen is the strongest and most effective midfielder in the division right now. Certainly top five.

I cannot believe the difference to a couple of months ago. He was accused of not being a footballer and Adkins was an idiot for not being able to see this.
Even those who wanted to give Adkins leeway due to the hand he'd been dealt were slagging him off for not being able to see Henriksen was poor.
    Mad innit?

Always had the skill and ability he definitely did stand off and bottle out of the action.
Credit to him and the manager for sorting it out.

Sad to see on the back of what you all saw as a fairly complete performance as a centre forward the Daily Fail only marked Martin as a 6. Clearly he was much better than that. It’s not always about scoring yourself but he was obviously a big part of a team effort. It’s a real shame the HDM can’t apply to same honesty to the owners as they do to the players.

He was better than he mostly has been, but there were still plenty of times when he didn’t get into positions that were crying out to be attacked. Seemed to lay a ball off or make a pass then have a little ponder while jogging around instead of quickly supporting the play he’d just created
    IMHO

I don't think the two where mutually exclusive.

I was a big critic of Adkins but Henriksons biggest fan and defender. He scored double figures from midfield in Holland he was clearly talented. He played regularly for the national team. He had the talent. He wasn't played in his natural position by any manager before Adkins so it was always going to take time to adapt. We saw improvement last year and now we are seeing consistency.

I wasn’t too surprised anyway. They have already stopped me commenting on the **** they print. Can’t believe the easy ride they give the owners, it’s genuinly pathetic. I also noted that they described Kevin Stewart as impossible to fault but gave him an 8. Living so far away you rely on the media for what you can get on the club so I still keep looking at the app.

Yeah I'm not saying he wasn't lacking and that those criticising him were wrong and blinded by the despair (see owlstalk posters saying sell the whole squad and sack bruce before he's even started)
I'm just saying its amazing how his form along with everything else on the playing side has changed beyond recognition.
Its more than just the manager, it requires the players to buy in to the work ethos so full marks not only to Adkins but to everyone involved.
    With two exceptions of course.

My lad used to call Henriksen - "pass to Dawson"
cos that's all he ever seemed to do.

Love the Allams are on board and gunning for the play offs.

Then they can’t be bothered to offer Adkins, Henriksen and Marshall new contracts. Even worse when there are two options on the last two.

Time and time again they fail to understand the basic principles of football. Sign Henriksen up he will be worth 4-10 million, but no risk losing him. Bonkers.

It would also be common sense to offer Bowen a new contract, keep him happy, I doubt he’d sign it but the offer would go down well, or even a slight wage increase, I know he’s going in the summer most probably.

Then don’t get me started on Adkins, worked miracles and they risk losing him for nothing. I think they don’t understand the basic concept of rewarding people for decent form, and it’s to their deteriment massively.
