Well, step up Tim Sherwood, the footballing expert who hasn’t had a managers job for over 3 years who seems to be pitching for Rafa’s job once Rafa leaves in the Summer. Tim Sherwood talking on BT Sport: “I think sometimes at home the onus is on him (Rafa Benitez). “The fans think, well you bored us to death away from home, we have been travelling in our numbers, now try and entertain us, try and score goals, but (Newcastle under Rafa) don’t do it (score goals and entertain even at home). “And I mean that in the nicest possible way. “He stifles games, Rafa Benitez, and he knows how to do it, he know how to get results. “Without Rafa Benitez they get relegated with that squad of players. “With Rafa they stay up. “For me they are not….they are in a relegation battle, of course they are, they have a lot of hard work to do, but they are out of it in my opinion. “I think they are good enough to be able to do it because of that man (Rafa Benitez). “I think Mike Ashley has to take some credit for appointing him. “Yes you don’t wan to go out there and sign big money players and average players for big money. “What he (Mike Ashley) wants Rafa to do is to turn average players into good players and that is what he is doing.”
