I think Paul is still a teenager at end of book, no? It's been 20+ years since I read the first book... but I think he was 14 at the start if I recall correctly and was still a teen , or at least a young adult when it ended. It's a coming of age story

I liked the characters ...so that let me keep watching when it sagged occasionally
It's not bad, at times it's about how he gave everything and how sorry he is for slipping. There's almost a great documentary there but not quite. It's like we needed to tell him we understand and think he's brilliant so do a film about that and don't worry about it. I still think he is punishing himself for that moment.
