Few boos today, clearly audible on the stream I was watching. Football fans, eh?

Never have understood why we sing about them when we are not playing them . That goes for all rivalries IMHO .

Can I say how nice it was to see a penalty straight from the Rickie Lambert school again? No stuttering in the run up, no watching the keeper for a move, just hit it as hard as you can towards the side of the goal and even if the keeper gets a hand to it, it'll go in. Loved it.

Reading their fora, Leicester's fans are upset that, despite a fairly decent record, the club has abandoned the pressing, high-octane football that brought them to prominence in favour of drab affairs with little cutting edge.

    Everything old is new again.

I've stopped worrying about the teams around us now. We will pull clear of the bottom 3 IMO.

I was really concerned about the matches this afternoon as there was the potential for us to become cut off from the pack. Three points at Leicester was unexpected but I think this will not only go down as a nice surprise for most Saints fans, but probably the most significant result of the season.

The bottom two teams in the league are certainties for relegation and I cannot see them getting out of the mire. Who will join them remains the only question open to debate. My fear was that a lose today would have put Southampton under an awful lot of pressure. I still think Chelsea will beat Newcastle and, for me, the Geordies are the team I would fear most for. I feel Burnley will pull clear but we are still in the mix albeit I think we will do better than Cardiff. In a weekend which could have been catastrophic, I think the performance today has demonstrated more than any other that there is a coterie of players who have strongly bought in to Ralph's ethos. Come May, I believe that the result today will be seen as having been pivotal.

We are still in the fight, but we look like we've got our second wind and the other guy has a cut brow, ear, lip & nose.

I haven't, yet. By the end of February with any luck, we'll be able to breathe a bit easier.

I've looked at the bottom half and we are better than at least 8 teams IMO.

As I said the other week, our target for this season should effectively be to over take Bournemouth. I think they are going to continue their slide but still think that Bournemouth have enough points to say up. I cannot see either Fulham or Huddersfield mustering 30 points. It will be intriguing to see how many points are needed to stave off relegation this season.

That's just it, Ralph can game manage us and get results that much is obvious to me...the man just knows what he is doing.

I'm with you on that - but I won't say it out loud as I have so many cocky Bournemouth fans around me that they would love me to say my goal is to finish above them.

However, a few weeks ago I kept saying to them it is a marathon not a sprint.

Just think what that percentage might be when Ralph’s had a couple of windows to shape the team he wants.
