Thought Shackleton and Davis did fine when they came on. The sting had left the game by the hour mark because we slowed down. Would've been nice to go for the jugular and win 4/5-0 (just imagining the look on Lampard's face if we had won by that large a margin is priceless), but we picked up the three points and kept a clean sheet, which was the main thing.

Forshaw was excellent - part of me worries that his best position is in that holding role that Phillips usually plays though, because Phillips has been the player of the season (so far!) for me. Hope it's not a Gerrard/Lampard situation where they can't really play together.

It's an interesting one with Alioski. I think he's best when played either on the right (because he's left footed, he often has to curve his runs which helps him stay onside, plus he's such a threat coming in off the flank), or in a deeper role on the left - not necessarily LB, but even LM in a flat four as opposed to wide in a front three. He has a lot of natural ability and his energy and stamina alone is a superb asset, but he can be so frustrating, and not just with the timing of his runs. Seems to have found some form in the past month or so though, which is a big plus.

Side note: **** Lampard, and **** Andrews too
