Preston North End v Swansea City Competition - Sky Bet Championship Date - 12 January 2019 Kick off - 3pm Venue - Deepdale Following their impressive 3-0 demolition of Championship rivals Aston Villa in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup - a first-ever FA Cup win for the Swans at Villa Park - next up for Graham Potter’s squad is a Championship fixture away at Preston. Against Villa, Courtney Baker-Richardson bundled in the Swansea opener from close range inside two minutes and the visitors were effective on the counter-attack thereafter. Nathan Dyer doubled the lead with a crisp finish shortly after half-time. The Swans' place in round four was sealed when Jay Fulton tapped in the third in the closing stages giving Graham Potter a victory in his first FA Cup match in charge of the Swans. The day after the Swans beat Villa, Preston hosted Doncaster at Deepdale in a 3rd Round match and surprisingly lost to the League One outfit. Preston - hit by a glut of injuries, including to top scorer Callum Robinson, out for several months with a hamstring problem - have raided the two lower divisions in the early days of January. But new signings Josh Ginnelly, Jayden Stockley and Brad Potts were all cup-tied for this match - and it was one of Doncaster's early pieces of business who proved decisive. John Marquis scored his 19th goal of the season as Doncaster produced an FA Cup upset at Championship side Preston. League One's top scorer Marquis headed home Matty Blair's early cross to put Rovers ahead at Deepdale. Andrew Hughes nodded injury-hit Preston level but Tom Anderson poked Doncaster back ahead from a free-kick. Mallik Wilks' cool late finish sealed Rovers' progress as Grant McCann's Doncaster reached the fourth round for the first time since 2010. Swansea and Preston have played each other on 60 occasions, with the Swans winning 24, Preston winning 20 and 16 draws. When the teams met earlier in the season at the Liberty, the Swans were somewhat fortunate to run out 1-0 winners thanks to a Jay Fulton header in the first half: Turning to Saturday, the Swans are 7 points and 5 places above Preston in the Table, and as such this is a match that should be targeted for 3 points if Potter’s men are to reach the Play-Offs. That said, I think that the Swans will do well to return to South Wales with a point. I’m going 1-1
Preston had an awful start to the season, yet when they came to the Liberty they played some great passing football. I'm expecting a tough afternoon at Deepdale but hoping for a valuable away point. Preston North End 1 Swansea City 1
If Potter picks his strongest team available and now stops with the tinkering so only change is Ollie for Vickers, then I’m going for a 1-2 Swans win!!
Seeing as I'm so fickle and easily swayed by a great performance, I'm going gung-ho and expecting a win, 1 - 3.
1-2 win from me, feeling positive on this one, though a draw is highly likely...........................
Down to earth with a bump on this one. Not sure of the score but think we'll get beaten. Hope I'm very wrong though.
Can we make it 3 wins on the bounce away from home, Well the confidence is there and the players are fit, So why not !. I know that things dont always work out like that but i still fancy the win.....1 - 3.....
Due to work commitments this will be only my 3rd away game so far we won the 1st lost the second so I’m going to follow the obvious trend and go for a 1-2 win
Sincere best wishes and all the best to you and yours , but you must keep strong and positive and if so you'll beat the bastard thing
Best wishes @Stereo. I have an understanding on what it’s like with me sitting with my wife during her sessions, it is tough, so my thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. Chin up YJB!!
