I was going to stick them on my list but i'm not a huge fan, I also forgot Kings of Leon but they've gone off the boil a bit in the last few years.

As an aside on a Yank theme, here's an old song I'll bet you've never heard, I doubt many have.

Kings of Leon: first two albums were very good.

Now delving deeper into 'Americana', Alt. Country and Country Punk plus 'new' Southern Rock bands.

A few years ago I started on European bands and solo artists:

    Italy - Eros Ramazzotti

France - Renaud - even bought a 4CD box set of Johnny Hallyday

Germany - BAP, Die Toten Hosen, Peter Maffay, Udo Lindenberg, Wingenfelder (Fury In The Slaughterhouse).

Have you ever been to see/hear Antonio Forcione when he's in town during the fringe? Totally recommend it.

All depends what you like I suppose, all a matter of taste.

Some of the most gifted rock musicians I find incredibly tedious and boring. Can't be doing with all those 10 minute solos.

Jimi Hendrix was the worst culprit, just played any old ****e to any spaced out ****ers that would listen. It certainly wasn't music as we know it, Jim.

Not averse to ten minutes of bluesy wailing however I am also very fond of quick bursts; Peter Buck ..... Mike Campbell .....and others.

I got chucked out of the Aparthotel near the Scottish Parliament building in which I was 'living' in 2015 after I inadvertently set my kitchen on fire because the Foo Fighters were playing on the Castle Esplanade and the digs were fully booked.

I still like the Foo Fighters.

The list is not exhaustive, it was merely to underline my point.

I could have added plenty more like Tom Petty, The Alman Brothers, The Eagles etc etc etc
