Would you not say it's reasonable that May should have to come back to Parliament in three days, rather than three weeks? She's had enough time to decide what her next move will be, but is trying to bully Parliament by running the clock down, which suits both her and the Loony No-Dealers. Grieve was right to move the amendment, Bercow was right to allow a vote on it, and Parliament was right to vote in favour. May, already in contempt, has tried to run roughshod over Parliament from the start, and Bercow is only doing his job in giving MPs their say.

We're talking about John 'Bollocks to Brexit' Bercow, no matter how he tries to justify his actions his public declaration of opposition to Brexit has compromised his position. If he were an honourable man he'd have resigned but the fact that he continues in office long past his promised 'sell by date' does nothing to make the divisions in the House any less fractious nor does his many instances of allowing Remainers to dominate any discussions in the chamber...

 

Bloody hell Stroller you are just so anti-Brexit and cannot see anything other than remaining in the Gangster club. People knock Farage but when you hear him on LBC he takes calls from everyone and sometimes says from remainers "yeah that's a valid point", whereas you can never agree on a valid point if it goes against your EU.

 

Is he not just doing his job? God forbid the bloke doesn’t think a hard Brexit is a particularly good thing. What a lunatic.

 

It’s not going against the EU. It’s going against a pretty obvious attempt from May to force her proposed deal on us.

 

Three weeks or three days, what is most reasonable? May wants to bully Parliament and Bercow won't allow it - correctly.

We all voted to preserve the sovereignty of the UK Parliament didn't we?

 

It doesn't matter how good he is at his job, the fact he has publicly sided with the Remainers in such a key issue renders him compromised, today's 'performance' actually does nothing for Parliament, imagine if he had declared for Brexit and refused today's amendment...

 

Then he’d be a bit of a moron but is this just not part of the sovereignty that was apparently key to the Brexit vote? A British parliament making decisions for Britain. How quaint.

 

You're missing the point, I don't have a problem with the decision he made, it's the fact he is being seen as biased and was called out by MPs on just that premise, Parliament has to be above that...

 

We did and we do. Hopefully we all want a good outcome from this. Remain/Leave should be more united for the best of the country.
Agree May probably wanted to kick the can and have a better bargening chip however it seems at every oppertuneity MP's are making this harder. I can see why but it won't work. Today Bercow did something not normally associated with his position. Plenty of people from all places are questioning his motives. I personally find his actions weird. We will see in the coming days the reason why though.

 

I don’t see why it matters. He’s obviously going to have an opinion. If that opinion wasn’t public he’d be in no better or worse position to act as he has.

 

It's not really his job to have an opinion as Speaker of the House. He is supposed to be impartial and today he has shown not to be.

I voted remain because I was right it will make the country worse off ... that still seems 100% correct to me. I based my vote on the impacts thought back then it’s looks set to be a lot worse couple that with current U.K. culture and our poor politics I still believe this is wrong

A Conservative Party official has been found guilty of falsifying expenses during the 2015 election campaign to stop Nigel Farage becoming an MP.
Marion Little, 63, who was described by a judge as a “friend to prime ministers”, authorised spending above legal limits in the South Thanet constituency. The MP for the seat, Craig Mackinlay, was cleared of breaking election law at the same trial.
“I await a statement from the Electoral Commission, the CPS and Kent police as to how they justify millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money in pursuing me in a political show trial,” he said.
