So Spurs are possibly going to put a price of 225 million for Eriksen and it makes me wonder if that would be higher than the combined value of all the teams in League Two? How stupid are the owners to constantly ask this kind of money for players and it appears that 100 million for a virtual unknown is also acceptable by their standards. At the risk of being labelled discriminatory I would also say that most, if not nearly all, are overseas based and like the visitors taking the dinghy line to your shores seem to have this lemming like desire to land in England and get as much money as possible before declaring that it is not as good as where they came from. What a sad state of affairs on both counts.
lge 2 value £73m lge 1 value £157m … that's £230m so including agents fee likely about right! Championship worth about £1.2b
Don't you think the whole money thing has gone totally off the rails without a single thought to the lower divisions where the roots of the game still reside?
Its simply capitalism. The EPL is based upon the rich get richer. Each tv deal gets bigger so the sums of money increase and players value within the EPL is inflated. Amazon are now entering football and the EPL could have a further competitor bidding for its product to push the ker ching up further again. The EPL is a separate entity to the FL and FA. Its values therefore are its own, for its far narrower membership and not for the wider game
The TV football deals have become so expensive that Canadian cable companies will be dumping coverage in favour of seal clubbing and curling.
