I know he's as thick as an Eskimo's overcoat but making a statement that Silva is "a radicalised Isis member" Especially when the city was bombed by a radicalised Islamist at the concert in 2017.
Still and all mate him saying **** like that is ****ing terrible considering there were undoubtedly Utd fans hurt/killed in the bombing. It's a wonder it wasn't banned from youtube.
I can’t believe some people have such hate and/or anger for a whole group of people they don’t know and have never met based on a few randoms they have met or read on here or on Twitter. Maybe it’s because I’m old and tend not to have knee jerk reactions anymore but I couldn’t summon up enough enthusiasm to care what other fans think or do let alone base my opinion of them on where they live. Believe it or not Liverpool fans are just people. Some are old, some are young, some are disabled, blind, autistic, depressed or lonely, and some are healthy and well. Some are rich, some poor, some idiots, some not. Address the idiots as and when you feel it necessary but leave the broad brush labelling out. If my impression of Chelsea fans as a whole was based on those who post on here and from the racist stories in the press, it would be far from an accurate picture of the fanbase as a whole.
Huh? No hate or anger, more bewilderment. I wasn't saying they weren't people, just that they are crazy people. And yes, a sizeable chunk of our fanbase are dickheads.
From a neutral perspective I believe it tends to be the 'plastics' that cause most of the 'irrational' hatred towards both Liverpool and Manchester United as clubs ... I'm old enough to remember when Liverpool's domination of the domestic scene started to decline ... the phone ins were packed with obviously (accent wise) non scouse posters threatening to tear up their Liverpool season tickets as it was totally unacceptable and unthinkable to be travelling up from Devon, Bristol, the Home Counties etc if they were no longer guaranteed to be top of the pile ... unfortunately, the very successful clubs attract huge numbers of "winners" to their fan bases ... that type of fan's unwavering support is somewhat dependent on continuing success ... they will always be the first to moan when there is a power shift ... and will get little sympathy from the rank and file of most other club's supporters ... One thing you can't be accused of when you support a club like mine .... jumping on a glory wagon ... 50 years of mediocrity ... but one immeasurably, gloriously unbelievable, summer
Thing is Fosse me and jb and solid air and saint from our board were around when Everton were the most successful club in Liverpool, they were more wealthy also. So those of us who were around then aren't glory wagon jumpers either and are still supporting the club despite our lack of sustained success..
There are tons of genuine fans (of both clubs) buddy, no denying ... but I bet just about all of us on here have met a penis headed United or Liverpool 'fan' who has never actually been to a game but is the first to let you know their allegiance in work on a Monday morning when things are going well for them ... there are a few other clubs that attract similar types but the numbers tend to be directly proportional to the 'success' of the club ...
Yeah agreed, it's funny getting told I'm a Viking and a woolyback by Everton fans on the BBC, they've got fans from Scandinavia and loads in North Wales themselves.
I started supporting Liverpool when we were in the 2nd division. Like Page says Everton were top dogs in the city then. Nobody has a say in where they're born so for us born in Liverpool the choice of which team to support is either Liverpool or Everton, the fact both are in the top division isn't our fault - for those who've claimed in the past or are still claiming that all 'real' football is played in the lower leagues. I get the banter, I'm not even offended by the thieving scousers tag that gets bandied around, it's just a lazy stereotype. Hating a set of fans en masse though baffles me. I have a strong dislike for man utd - it's in our DNA but I don't extend it to their fans, I know utd fans who are salt of the earth types. It's a very dangerous precedent to base opinions of 'all' on the 'few'.
