Sunderland took another step closer to wembley, as they beat the mags u23 (4-0) in the checkatrade, johnstons paint, leyland daf cup, or whatever the **** its called now.
They've turned the trophy into a joke mate, but nice if you get to the final They tried to get Premier League Teams in to the lower leagues, it was met with a resounding no, however, as with the Premier League it don't end there and they then tried to go in via the backdoor aka the paint pot trophy. Supporters of lower league teams boycotted the trohpy, but it was never supported well in the early stages anyway and to add insult to injury, some L1 & L2 clubs were fined in the 2016/17 season for fielding weakened sides....yeah i know don't get me fooking started on the FA Cup and weakened Premier League sides. The problem now is that the next generation of supporter will look forward to going to places like Stamford Bridge to see the rare opportunity of their team playing there (against under 21's) - So the traditions of the game are gradually and slowly being eroded by greed, to benefit those at the top taking the cream. It fooks me off but i also know despite the boycotts, we are losing a fighting battle.
Yeah Guardiola has been calling for B teams in the domestic leagues again, he can **** right off the bald headed whingey **** bag.
Or the : 1. fact that the League Cup final is not til 5 weeks after the SF 2nd leg 2. possibility that the Poool may also effectively be out of the CL by then
I'm not sure how strong the boycotts are anymore - especially with clubs like Sunderland down in these leagues, and having attracted 16,654 for their game against the under 21's last night, i guess their rivalry comes before the affect it will have on the lower league clubs long after they have gone.
Yeah I've flat out refused so far to attend any games in that position but probably would have had to be a hypocrite if we'd drawn the blue few. Not sure what their other attendances have been in the competition, could see Chelsea u-21s getting quite far which would hopefully be the final straw.
Still time this season. Spurs could draw Madrid in the CL and have Ramos touch his shoulder. < career ending >
Attendances did fall in the early stages of the B Teams or under 21's as they marketed them, but i've not looked at if that is still the case for 2018/19. Interesting to note in the below article some clubs took to marketing without mentioning it was an under 21 side.... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...es-attendances-fall-as-the-bteamboycott-bites
Is it a sign of weakness in the PL this season, that three of the current PL top 4 can still potentially do the domestic/UEFA quadruple ??
Yeah I remember loads of ckubs setting post war records for low attendance in the first season. No idea how it's been attended this season. ****ing joke of a competition now.
****ing exactly this. You boys even have a ****ing competition on who counts their votes quickest let alone an actual footie match
