Both Jamal Lowe and Ronan Curtis are worth £5 million each of anyone's money, perhaps more, but we must not be tempted to sell at any cost whilst we are in such a good position in League 1. How on earth do you replace players as good as those two ?
Leeds were also reportedly interested in signing Lowe: https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-live-jamal-lowe-15621823 It shows how far he's come, and what a turn around his careers had since coming to Pompey, that a man who was bouncing around clubs in non-League football is now attracting interest from four of the top seven clubs in the Championship - 1st placed Leeds, 4th placed West Brom, 5th placed Middlesborough and 7th placed Nottingham Forest. But, like I said, if Pompey are serious about mounting a promotion challenge this season and want to survive in the Championship next season then we have to keep hold of our star players, and no one has been more consistant for us in the past two seasons than Jamal Lowe.
Lowe´s arrival reignited my love affair with PFC. It has been furthered with the arrival of Ronan Curtis. If Redmond is worth 10 million, then Lowe is twice that amount. As for Curtis, 30 million is his true value as he is a very good PL player operating in League 1. I would hate to lose either, but if they go, then at the end of the season, for a fee that I have mentioned to a good PL side like Leicester or Everton.
Pompey defender Jack Whatmough is being tracked by a trio of Scottish Premiership clubs. According to The Sun, Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers, plus Aberdeen, are all keen on the Gosport-born centre-half. please log in to view this image Whatmough, who signed a new two-year deal in May 2017, is out of contract at the end of the season. And the report suggests the Scottish trio are keen to make the most of that with no new deal currently on the table. The 22-year-old has made 25 appearances for Pompey this term, as Kenny Jackett’s League One leaders bid to win promotion back to the Championship. Whatmough made his Blues debut as a 17-year-old against Southend in November 2013. He has made more than 90 first-team appearances for Pompey.
As a homegrown talent, and a first team regular, I'd like to keep hold of Whatmough but it might be the case that he wants to move on. I suppose we'll find out if he gets offered a new contract - which he should.
Danny Rose on verge of Portsmouth exit Rumours of Danny Rose joining Crawley Town permanently. Sad if true, but he isn't as good as he was prior to his badly broken leg suffered against Northampton Town's Jon-Joe O'Toole. please log in to view this image

Portsmouth target Shrewsbury’s Bryn Morris please log in to view this image Pompey have entered the race to sign in-demand Bryn Morris. It is understood the Blues want the 22-year-old to bolster a midfield now lacking the energy of Ben Thompson. Morris returned to parent club Shrewsbury earlier this month having spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Wycombe. During that Chairboys stay, he netted the opener in their 2-2 draw at Fratton Park in September. The former England under-20 international scored three times in 21 appearances for Gareth Ainsworth’s side before returning to New Meadow. Luton have been linked with a transfer-window swoop for Morris – now Kenny Jackett is also pursuing the highly-regarded ex-Middlesbrough youngster. Morris has made 43 appearances for Shrewsbury after arriving at the League One club permanently in January 2017. During his Riverside Stadium days he also saw loan service at Burton, Coventry, York and Walsall. The midfielder has one Championship appearance to his name, climbing off the bench for Middlesbrough in a May 2013 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday. He is 6' tall, and can also play in defence. I can recall his excellent goal scored against us back in September. Looks a good prospect.
Jamal Lowe has picked up the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ League One Player of the Month award for a second time this season. The Pompey winger clinched the accolade for December. In a vote held by fan engagement website, Snack Media, Lowe won the prize with 42 per cent of the vote. He defeated Barnsley defender Ethan Pinnock, who claimed 22 per cent of the ballot. Ex-Blues loanee John Marquis finished third with 16 per cent. In behind the Doncaster striker was Luton pair James Collins (11 per cent) and James Shea (seven) as well as Peterborough marksman Ivan Toney (three). Lowe helped Pompey retain their position at the top of League One last month. Kenny Jackett’s troops collected 10 points from a possible 18, with the former Hampton & Richmond talent scoring three goals. He netted in the 2-0 win over Southend on December 8, before firing a double in the Blues’ 5-2 victory at Fleetwood on December 29. Lowe also bagged the PFA prize in August, while Gareth Evans claimed the gong in November. Ronan Curtis has been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for December.
Portsmouth keeping tabs on Blackburn Rovers defender Paul Downing. It is understood the centre-back is on Kenny Jackett’s radar during the January transfer window. please log in to view this image No move is imminent for Downing, however, and he’s part of the Rovers squad travelling to Millwall tomorrow. The Lancashire Telegraph has reported the 27-year-old could depart Ewood Park this month. Downing moved to Blackburn on a season-long loan from MK Dons in the summer of 2017. He made his move permanent the following January, penning a one-and-a-half year deal. Downing made 30 appearances last season, playing a key role as Tony Mowbray’s side clinched promotion from League One. However, the 27-year-old has slipped down the pecking order in the Championship this campaign. He’s made just four appearances in all competitions, with his last outing coming in Rovers’ 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on December 8.

Bryn Morris: Portsmouth sign midfielder from Shrewsbury. please log in to view this image League One leaders Portsmouth have signed midfielder Bryn Morris from Shrewsbury Town for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year-old spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Wycombe and has agreed a two-and-a-year-half contract at Fratton Park. Morris, who scored three goals in 21 outings for the Chairboys, joined Town from Middlesbrough in January 2017. "We think he's someone who has his best years ahead of him," boss Kenny Jackett told the club website. "He is a progressive signing - someone who's on the way up and hungry to prove himself here."
Keeper Craig MacGillivray has signed a one year extension to his contract, up until Summer 2021. Really good news, as such a brilliant player. please log in to view this image
Unfortunately, Andre Green has been recalled by Aston Villa manager Dean Smith. We need to sign a replacement a.s.a.p. Midfielder Danny Rose has joined Division two side Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee. Wish him well. Good player to my mind.
So of the loanees we had all three have gone back to the parent club. Unless Dennis is able to step up to the mark, maybe we should get Brewster on loan from Liverpool. That would be some achievement.
