is she the one deaf person in the US or is she just the one deaf actress or... is she just pretending?
or just a known safe face. like how Peter dinklage is now dwarf of choice. oh we need a dwarf..get Pete but to get round the while type cast thing let's make him a giant (marvel solution)
Donald Trump has the mental age of a 3 year old and started in Home Alone 2, his own tv show and then became President!
Probably not many and they probably can't... And even if there are some that can act as well as Cranston, they don't have the pulling power that he has, so would be less valuable as an actor.
this is this reality check. one very time I hear about women actors getting paid less than male actresses I say well.. did you sign up to that wage and are you as big a draw... example is the Windsor show. they hired a well known male actor for phillip from Dr who but the female playing the queen is the actual star but paid less cos she was nobody same argument for male and female sports... can you back your wages with revenue for the sports? answer to women is in general no.
Indeed, and I made comment then that someone with international fame and appeal probably is more valuable than a leading role that many people don't know. Not that I don't acknowledge that there is a gender gap in pay for similarly known actors... But thought the crown was a bad example to make a stink about gender gap. One thing I've noticed though is that there are very few female megastars compared to male. There's a few, but female stars come and go more frequently than males. For some reason, name recognition seems to matter less to the entertainment industry for actresses than male actors.
agreed. there is an unfair pay gap but That show was a very bad one to pick. There is certainly a MUCH longer shelf life for male stars and potential to revitalise career. EG... tom cruise has made it work for 25 years, he's only now looking old (as in not just older but now actually old) EG robert downey jnr coming back. EG ben affleck somehow coming back with a whole new career. EG kirk douglas getting huge amount of roles. But then on the other hand women seem to vanish. Michelle Pfiffer? angelina jolie *both have fallen off a cliff or something) Of the current crop there are a lot of women actors right now... I'm not sure if they will last any longer. e.g. jennifer lawrence, scarlet johansson, emma stone
Not too many men put their careers on hold to raise a family i.e Jolie. Not sure about Pfeiffer she only ever did about 1 film a year and continues to do so.
His character name was "Dutch" in Predator, the Hollywood movie moguls must think Germany won the war.
If you count traipsing her kids all over the world as a UN ambassador putting her career on hold. Changing her career is probably the better description. But I get the general point obviously. Actually a lot of the women are going for big budget tv and the men following suit. As actors the roles are more original and satisfying with more time to meat out the character. For men and women the big budget movie is largely stand in front of this green screen and talk to the tennis ball in a say or angry voice these days.
look its not to offend anyone. Just saying. I know a few people of variable abilities. 4k camera and drool... just saying. Theres a reason stephen hawking was played by an able bodied person. We are that shallow yes
IMO jolie didn't put her career on hold she got old. The roles she is best known for were "hot chick" and really she had most work dry up a few years back when she did wanted and salt. After that... really it hasn't translated into a new phase of career. look at jennifer lawrence (a lot of guy on here liked to) she's gone form playing "young adult" in hunger games to married in mother (which is a horror) via a few more matrue roles like that awful movie joy. Next thing she'll be in rom coms and then that'll be that Its really not fair is it. Guys can transition from hollywood stud to fat old man (see george clooney for example)
