"95 per cent of the squad is so happy, happy with the rules and you can feel that." Is the DoF sufficiently overweight to equal 5%?
Statistically this means two members of the first team squad are unhappy So who other than GKN isn't happy?
Going to assume Janssen given he's missed half a season recovering from foot surgery and hasn't got a squad number, although I wouldn't be surprised if Vorm was unhappy at slipping down the goalkeeping pecking order
Poch pretty much saying what most of us have been. Very happy with how things are going, pining for some form of silverware and understands that added quality boosts our chances of said silverware. I like how he also said Grealish would be a massive improvement on Winks and that we're pushing hard to get him over the line...
Seems like Dembele is edging closer to Beijing Sinobo Guoan. £11m fee, not too bad all things considered, 18 months ago that wouldn't have got his big toe. Real shame to see how injuries have battered him, as I've said before though, will wish him nothing but the best if he does seal the move (he'd be mad not too, supposedly will earn £9m a season!). Been one of my favourite players of recent years.
Janssen (yeah, he's still alive) played for the U23s today. Mail are claiming Poch will hold talks with him and then decide what to do with him with regards to giving a second chance or try to flog him. Personally I think the latter, although my mate is adamant that he'd thrive if given a second chance.
If Llorente is leaving, would it hurt to give him another chance, even if it’s just until the summer? Replacing him will cost us, and that money could do with being used in CM.
Only practical solution really, Levy probably holding out for a premium price for our misfit will scupper any sensible outcome with Jannsen
Great interview. Most honest one from Poch. It's now clearly on Levy whether we get players in and/or keep Pochettino. He does refer to the 'management after him' as if he may well leave to acheive his ambitions. He's basically overacheived based on what Levy requested.
Yeah that got a red flag from me too but as you say...over to Levy. The man is too professional to act like Jose but he's definitely hinting at Levy...we must change the way we do things if we want to achieve what we want to achieve...he couldn't have made it clearer.
Bundesliga Rando Watch BILD are reporting that we're interested in Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl I have to say that's out of character for Bild this season, as they're mainly inventing stories about how Bayern's team want to sacrifice Niko Kovac to appease their gods, which obviously has nothing to do with Bayern giving Bild the cold shoulder for years coupled with Bild taking it upon themselves to be known as the paper that can get a manager the sack - Bayern managers especially...
Haven’t watched the whole interview but read bits of it online. It’s been obvious since the summer Poch has wanted to sign players but he’s not a prick like Jose to happily come out and slate those above him or say how his current ones aren’t good enough. One of the most gentlemanly managers in the game. Though despite the fact he’s indirectly laid down the gauntlet to Levy, apparently he says how he’d happily stay here for 20 years (well that’s what the BBC were saying anyway), if true, Levy should literally be drafting up the longest contract in football right now, because that’s the best signing we could make over the next 15-20 years.
Dembele off to Beijing for £9million then. So that’s now at least 2 central midfielders we sign in this window.
Just heard that such a shame to see a player of his quality leaving but I guess the injuries have taken their toll and I wish him all the best
I’d much rather we keep Llorente, there’s probably more value in selling Janssen too. If Llorente is used correctly he’s a bloody good player. The problem for Spurs and him is that in his first season we never done that and it was no real surprise he looked woeful. In the very rare opportunities he’s had this season, he’s scored four goals in two starts and was massively responsible for our win against Burnley, that’s what you want from a sub/ second choice striker. If Llorente is to go though, I still wouldn’t care if Janssen was sold so long as it was confirmed someone like Sterling would be given opportunities. Genuinely don’t think he could be any worse than Janssen.
Would’ve thought we could’ve got at least £10m for Mousa (last night reports were saying £11m) but all in all you can’t really complain. Riddled with injuries, incapable of playing 90 minutes and/ or two games in quick succession and only has 6 months left on his deal. Just really gutting to see how bad the injuries have ruined him. 18 months ago he was a £60m player in my eyes. His one criticism has always been goals, if he’d been even a ten-goal-a-season midfielder, he’d have been playing at Barcelona by now and likely cost similar to Pogba. Incredibly talented footballer.
