We usually have a real Xmas tree. After taking it down today the Mrs decided for next year we would get an artificial tree. Being my Mrs we had to go and buy one straightaway. Turns out the local garden centre is selling off Xmas stock, she found a £400 artificial tree, 8ft tall, for £135. A good buy, but not when you were not planning to buy one!

Prefer artificial trees. Don't dry out. Don't make a mess. Hold ornaments better. They aren't full of praying mantis eggs.

    yep,

i'm not religious myself, but was stopped one time by a load of uni students doing a survey and asked what does christmas mean to you and i was honest with them.

just means buying presents for my kids and seeing how happy they are, then i said it is all about the £££ now days and the real meaning died years ago.

Stockpile your tins lad! And gas canisters and batteries and water purification tablets... tent, fishing line, big bag or dried oats....I'd say guns but we aren't yanks....

When the fall happens, head to a remote area and eat your beans and rabbit and wait for the death clans to kill each other...:emoticon-0100-smile

    Well now...

    1. Given it could get very cold but this is 29th march one spare gas cannister might be no harm.
    2. I doubt the water will stop flowing in the taps.
    3. I fail to see how brexit would necessitate a tent unless the EU paid for your hose.

however if the bad winter proved anything to anyone last year the supermarkets were out of food within a very short time. If you had a global systems collapse (not like 2008 but an actual real one) I really don't think there'd be food within 2 or 3 days.

You'd have martial law, rationing etc...
You can bet there are contingency plans for that stuff.

Rationing was actually a good thing.... people that had previously been malnourished actually got a lean but balanced diet usually only afforded to people with good money.
