Hence the reason to stay in the cup, now we are out that the chance of playing some fringe players has gone. I'm not saying don't play some fringe players but 8 changes for me was just too much.

I'd say not - even those to whom could be considered bandwagonesque.

 

Newport, Accrington, Wimbledon or Barnet away would have been far more appealing than any of the so called "big clubs"
