    That's the plan, to train.

I quite enjoy a bit of cross country where I'm working but it's limited as I'm right on top if a hill, no way am I running down any sides so I'd have to run back up again!

    Flat only.

    Ok

I only asked because it's something I probably need to do more than anything else as I have **** stamina but it's the one thing I simply have never been able to endure. I find it so boring and tedious.

    Was looking for tips

It’s boring. As I said, I went through a spell, a good ten years, when I didn’t find it boring but before and after that spell it’s only ever been boring. I used to cruise through a 10k several times a week but even when I was enjoying it the thought of spending any longer than that staring ahead was not appealing. Conversely I have always been able to play football until I’m physically done and can’t run anymore.

Whey isolate just take as soon as you’ve completed the gym, probably wasn’t worth getting isolate if you’re not gonna cut out all the stuff like beer and have a clean diet, but won’t do any harm.

Creatine is usually stored so take it daily, ignore the loading phase it’s a waste of time, make sure you drink 2 litres of water per day, best to dissolve it in warm water and add cold water to drink it. Take it whenever suits you, some people will argue it’s best taken pre/post workout but that’s unfounded.

Take creatine on rest days too. Off cycle for 5 days after around 5-6 weeks if you feel you’re carrying water and look bloated.

Been on the meat grid, most don't like it, as it's a big part of the warehouse, but it's only medium weight (lasses don't do it though)

Anyway there was only 3 of us on it, and the young lad has one of those fit watches...Seems he had taken 11k steps in the first 3 hrs...and all that dragging full pallets of meat around, and them lifting the boxes into the correct stores.....

think i'll skip the gym and have a beer.

    <ok>

Haven't had a beer since NYE but won't be long before I do I'm afraid!

No excess on the horizon though, I just enjoy a decent beer. Or two ish.

What I invariably need is a challenge. Something to get me focussed on the end goal instead of the boredom.

+1 for another one who hates running. Only time I don't mind is for a purpose, like playing football. Used to have to wear one of those monitor things at one of my old clubs and would be breaking 11k or so pretty routinely during a game, not sure if that included walking though. Put me on a treadmill and think the longest I've ever run is about 4k before being bored ****less and knackered.

I found skipping far better for me, seems to shred me pretty quickly (was noticing the difference in a couple of weeks tops) and wasn't out of breath or knackered whilst doing it. Was doing sets of 10 x 150 rotations, smash it out in about 25 mins when you got half decent at it and into a rhythm, seems perfect if you are just trying to lose a bit of fat.

I was always more of a runner than a gym person...I used to run cross country for the marines...but some of those ****s are like whippets..

  18. So you're in a minority of millions! I like the organised stuff as it's a nice day out as much as anything and you have to build up to it so as not to look like a twat. I probably do half charity and half non charity as you can't always ask people. But if you do have someone's cash on your back **** me it makes you train. Cannot think of anything worse than letting people down because I couldn't be arsed to take it seriously. Having said that, I've never failed to finish an event but I have pulled out of a few in the weeks running up to it. Thankfully they've always been the self funded ones.

  20. Ah it's done me good for the last eight or so years. I can get quite stressy so getting out and walking for a few hours listening to music does me the world of good. Makes beer taste better too!
