He's young, still learning, I've no problem with him, but just seeing the 2nd Wolves goal on TV the BPF haters on here would be ****ing topping themselves had it been him who let that in
1. The free kick against Blackburn. The consensus seems to be: we conceded goals the keeper is rubbish, we lost a game the team is rubbish, etc
I do get the frustration fans have with him. If we were mid table, people might be more relaxed about the errors, accept he has to learn somewhere etc. I completely understand, the concept that to get promoted you want the best available. Some criticism, pointing out the obvious errors, or ‘could have done betters’ are fair enough... my beef with the criticism is twofold: 1. it’s not his fault he gets picked, he’s a kid playing in a high pressure position in front of big crowds and tv audiences having every move dissected by wannabe experts. If people don’t rate him, slag off orta and bielsa... ragging him doesn’t help anyone. 2. It gets over exaggerated. Every goal becomes his fault.
Fair point bud... you got me!!! Though clearly, as jammy will happily point out, I have broken house rules and posted the odd query about orta
I’d not be calling for his head even if we collapse second half, I’d just be preying that he learned or realised where it went wrong second half of the season and corrected it for next. I believe we are very short in squad depth but if we don’t get out of this division this season and hold the squad together, with a couple of additions and the youngsters coming through I’ll be extremely excited for next season. Even when we play bad, it’s not half as bad as last seasons ‘bad’ I’ll worry more when or if performances fall off the cliff face
Holding squad together would be the issue. Guaranteed two of better players sold and Pablo getting on. To strengthen we would then need to bring in about five. Would surely make more sense to get two or three in this month.
I totally agree, we should go all out now to make it happen this season but if it doesn’t I do feel 2-3 quality players next should do it if nobody leaves. If we we’re stuck here next season and that was the scenario, then Clarke, Halme and Shackleton coming through would be like three additions, then we have the next batch looking to break in, Douglas might be more settled, Tyler Roberts maybe making the #10 his own even Bamford might remain injury free (okay I’m pushing it now) I’m not sure we’d struggle to hold on to our players, we’d be favourites next season and which premier league team would take Roofe? Phillips is Leeds through and through, I don’t think he’d ask to leave but I’m just saying I wouldn’t turn on Bielsa as I’ve seen what he can do with an average bunch
My supposition that it might be the work of kgb hitman Sergei Gloryvski looks a little nearer the mark this evening. Don’t go out without wearing your hazmat/decontamination suit ristac
Only snag with that is we already know two players have to be sold each season to balance the books if we don’t go up
I see Cooper played 65 minutes and by all accounts he had a mixed game, some good headers were won but a few stray passes in poor conditions. Hopefully he’s shook off the rust and will be fine for Friday
Do we believe that is still the case as we did reinvest this season with the purchase of Bamford and Douglas? If it is the case Saiz will be one of those and I’m sure if we can get shot of Cibiki, Grott, O’Kane and one more of the lesser players, Dallas maybe then it will save us a few quid.
Do they? if we just miss out, which I don't think we will,l I can't see Radz, and definitely not Bielsa wanting to sell our best players, probably the opposite, go for better quality and push on next term
