Welsh fan murdered before tonights game.

It's a joke. Lighten up. But cardiff and swansea fans are nutters, and i'm speaking as someone who knows a lot of cardiff city fans.

 

Cardeff and Swansea shouldn't be compared to the Old Firm for **** sake. It was a scrap and someone got hit, fell and hit a kerb and had a heart attack. It happens all the time in Cities and Towns around the Country. It could of happened at Shrewsbury vs Plymouth for **** sake.

 

You've obviously never seen the south wales derby then. It's far more than a little scrap, ask any welsh football fan.

 

It's a derby but it's nowhere near the OF, there's probably derbies in England that are bigger.

 

Don't try and get out of it.

 

It's all unconfirmed but it was Welsh fans arrested and the growing rumours are that it was definitley fighting between Swansea and Cardiff fans. I desperately hope this isn't true but gut feeling is that it is.
As Cowboys said the South Wales derby matches are not for the faint hearted, away fans were banned for donkeys years. Now the usual policing figures are about 1000 per game minimum.

 

having lived in stoke for many years i knew 2 brothers, 1 supported Port Vale the other Stoke City. They were BROTHERS

yet they were quite happy to beat the shoite out of each other/crews etc

what is it about football that gets people so riled up?

we condemned the riots recently, how is this different? and it happens more often and has been going on longer

over a football team FFS

as for the fella who has died, its hard to not feel something for his family/loved ones etc, but unless he was an innocent bystander, or someone who was protecting a loved one etc and it turns out it was over club rivalry then for me its hard to give a shoite tbh

i know some will see that as wrong, and say well dont post etc. I have no problem with the discussion etc i just think its a wasted life

 

You mean 2 police to every fan? That is a bit heavy handed in anybody's book.

 

But isn't rivalry what sport is all about? Us and the Spuds, Celtic and Rangers, Cardiff and Swansea etc. There are just some fans who take these rivalries too far. I enjoy winding spurs fans up, but i would never get in a fight with them.

 

Can't compare that to these other ones. The old firm is about more then Football.

 

as i live on the english-welsh border by the city of Chester i know the some rivalries can get violent as to when chester city fc played local neighbors Wrexham
that game was always a guaranteed fight fest

Chester vs Chorley last season got a bit manic too by all accounts.

 

Leeds vs Man Utd will be a bit tasty at Elland Road aswell.
