Not even sure what that comes under......vivid imagination, wishful thinking, delusional or plain and simple insanity :) Would get them back for the last cup game we played them

The trouble is that I can imagine the converse: Pompey fans jeering as some Saints fans try to sneak out when the game is lost. I need a gin and tonic just thinking about it. :emoticon-0106-cryin

    They'd let us at home...

They wouldn't beat us at home anyway, which is why it must be at home.

You'd have to ask the authorities as to why (for domestic matches) yellow card suspensions are now competition-specific, whereas red card suspensions still apply across the board.

(I understand them wanting to stamp out players purposely getting a 5th yellow - or another multiple of 5 - in the match before a cup game. But it doesn't go the whole way. If a player gets a 5th yellow in a "normal" way in a match before a cup game, they could in theory just go and purposely get themselves a 2nd yellow and thus a red. That way they go from being suspended for the league game for 5 yellows, to being suspended for the cup game for a red card - and being available for the league game.)

    Yeah, soz.

Think they’re a few pages back.

Why don’t you just wait for the draw. Apparently when they draw each ball, they also tell you which club corresponds to it :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Btw, what side are Pool going to get rinsed on?

I find it thoroughly depressing that clubs/players care that little about the cup.

I don't like waiting, I'm still waiting for my first Saints league win this season.

And the beeb presumably, can't see them missing out on the draw.

Don't think players think like this very often....you risk overdoing things and getting a straight red (3 missed games) rather than the yellow wanted.

It would be much more fun if they didn’t reveal the clubs until right at the end.

I’ve copied the ball numbers on to the 13 v 27 thread now.

I blame the clubs much more than the players. Unless they are actively asking to be rested for cup matches, it's not the players' choice.

I'd also say I find it more infuriating, rather than depressing. The likes of Howe and Puel prioritising mid-table football over a cup run is just plain wrong. The Leicester fans have the memory of their recent league wins against City and Chelsea for all of a few months. Whereas the memory of winning a cup lasts a lifetime.

(I'm fine with clubs at the top and bottom ends of the table not going all out for the cup. But those stuck in the middle...)

I’d like to see children from all walks of life do the draw, that have connections to certain clubs, then do a follow up match day programme for the little ones.

Instead we will have Alan Shearer pulling on Lineker’s ball sack.
