This season's Third Round has thrown up some interesting results and a number of Premiership teams going out this year has certainly made in more interesting and more akin to the competition as I grew up with it in the 70's. It has been interesting to see that Fulham, Bournemouth and Huddersfield getting knocked out .I think that it is a shame that Prem teams do not field their best squad and I think that Leicester can only blame themselves if they don't pull the 1-0 reverse back. There seems to be a preference for squad rotation on this board and, with a small or injury-prone squad, there is a degree of logic. I would have to say that I still think that wholesale changes are not the answer. The results this weekend seem demonstrative to me that if you field a depleted squad, you can be punished. The logic if resting players , of course, only makes sense if you get a result. There are always players like Ings or Romeu who need to be rested due to injury risk or suspension but the logic of putting out a weakened squad which jeopardises winning one of the three domestic trophies available in a season is sometimes difficult to understand.
This has been explained multiple times I'm not sure how else people can put it. I'm sure we'll see a more settled team going forward. Agree it's a shame that a lot of clubs don't take it seriously though.
Anyway I wonder how they'll price the replay, hopefully it's about 12 quid for adults and a fiver for kids. Reckon we could near 20k if something like that.
Each to their own and all that jazz. But I think I’d rather have someone who suffers from Parkinson’s cut my cock and balls off with a rusty hack saw than sit and watch snooker!
Saints pot 13. Pompey pot 27. 13 + 27 = 40. We beat them in the FA Cup at FP in Jan 1984, 35 years ago. If we play them this year we will win 5-0. 35 +5 = 40 It's fate.
I was wondering who would be the first to try and find a link to the number 40 Would you rather them home or away?
So, with Fulham, huddersfield and Cardiff all out, does that give them an advantage over us, Burnley and Newcastle in the relegation battle. I think not, anyone think otherwise?
