**** knows I was out and didn’t see the match but their fans obviously don’t wanna go no matter who they play, apart from United obviously they’d fill it then.

I'll give you Charlton's L1 game today as an example i can express best. Their ground holds 27k - now remember STH's will be scattered throughout 3 stands. The 4th stand Jimmy Seed is for away supporters but only holds 3k - Hence Sunderland get restricted to 3k of tickets but could double that. The attendance today was just over 16k, so 13k home support. Problem is with health and safety and policing restrictions, it would be a logistical nightmare to allocate more tickets to Sunderland, just to gain another 3k paying customers, when you will have to upset home supporters by reallocating them, then extra policing and steward costs, it probably aint worth the hassle.

We took 5k to Blackpool and they had 3k home fans. That's more about the protest at Blackpool's owners tbf.

You also need to look at the geographical location of the ground. Away supporters entrance is completely separate from home support, when we go normally separated in the road by police horses. To allocate more tickets, away supporters would have to encroach on home soil, never a great idea on big games.

Stoke’s recent results fill me with hope, with a bit of luck they’ll be in League One next year.

Yep, fair play to the Blackpool fans. They are certainly voting with their feet.

Yeah that's why last time we played at Fratton we got a bigger allocation than every other team as it's easier to just give us the full end as it was bubbled.

Gills is exactly the same as you know, you come in from the Station End if you are an away supporter, exactly like that they keep you bubbled.

Well not exactly like that as away fans simply weren't allowed to travel independently <laugh>

A lot of grounds are like that though, New Den by train has it's own separate path to the ground.
