Poch surprisingly: “You not score 7 away?” Harry: “No, no. But we did score 9 at home and Defoe scored five in that game” ****ing love(d) these two managers.
Skipp deserves the plaudits coming his way for his performance, but I have to say Marsh looked a tidy player when he came on In other news, I'm probably being written out of a will tomorrow...
I disagree. The play by Llorente yesterday was not some 'hoof it to the lanky lad to try and head in' . His goals were about movement and the MF service. Therefore I am happy to have Son and Llorente leading the line for the League Cup SF home leg, and Kane on the bench. Kane can be starting XI for the Man Utd game, and the SF 2nd leg (if Spurs have not put the tie beyond doubt in the 1st leg) . And as hbic said, the boy Roles looked quite tidy yesterday. Depending on the FA Cup draw, it would good to see him get a similar run-out in the 4th round.
Can't think why the match stewards were ordered to confiscate these... please log in to view this image
I tend to agree with the Nando sentiments that he could start in the LC. Certainly we didn't change our game plan last night and he was excellent throughout, not just the goals. Plus, it would probably send the Chavs planning into a tailspin
Good win and whilst I'd have rathered we field a weaker team, I'm happier with the way Pochettino's plan has turned out.
Team Poch may analyse the game and decide (depending on the draw) he can do exactly that in round 4. However, the ties last season showed that even our senior players can get flustered by lower league opposition being physical and giving their all. IMHO the likes of Skipp/Roles etc in CM could not survive 60+ mins of that. I am happy to see in the FA Cup this month what academy talent could step up to the seniors, in the event that the CM/DM injury plague is not cleared by next month.
