Exactly my point. I think people revelling in being right about Adkins are the ones missing the point from the start. My criticism of him was not utilising the squad properly and he's doing that now, so nothing to complain about. Beating Leeds is as good as it gets for us. Note to Chazz above, I only read the decent posters on here and I hope you have apologised for calling Dicko 'lazy' then a few weeks after that berating Odubajo in a pretty obscene way. I agree with the not utilising the squad properly (tinkering) but never called for his head, he saved us last year and then had the team ripped apart so he deserved some time, I along with quite a few said how can you blame him they are not his players, so now he seems to have gelled and improved what seems like an average bunch into quite a good team, are they now his players ? has the head of recruitment actually got some good players or has Nige turned frogs into princes ? I don't know but I still don't like the system where a manager doesn't choose his own players, if it goes right or wrong who gets the credit or blame ? He's proved to be a good coach up to now, was it 4 managers that failed to get Henrickson firing but now he's doing great, Campbell was never a prolific goal scorer, Grosicki has never been so consistent, Marshall is back in form, Stewart now has some bite, so maybe we need as many bodies as possible in the building for him to work his magic with.
We weren't playing crap we were making some INdividual mistakes as young new players do. I think it is a big deal. As it turns out there are so many soccer am talk sport he'll have to go he's no plan b ****ers on here.
Earlier in the season I said I didn't mind if he stayed or went, but I doubted we could get better. My problem was more that many seemed against him from the start and that seemed a reason that some jumped on any words in his interviews.
Not really, it takes more humility to admit you're wrong than it does to point it out to others and take pleasure from it. Sorry, but all those defeats weren't down to individual errors. If we were playing that well, the individual errors wouldn't have mattered.
Well it would take more humility as you were wrong, I didn't need to be humble. Of course individual errors mattered. De Wijs passing it straight to their player for a goal. Of course I'm taking pleasure in it. It's called throwing in the towel. Always easy to be negative to see the shortcomings of a player or a manager and distance yourself from failures.

The big thing about Adkins is that he is easier to like now he is doing well. His positive comments are still pretty much the same as ever and always will be that’s just him. It was hard to stomach them in the summer when the squad was left so thin and his transfer targets like Norwood disappeared to other clubs. Everyone knew that was not his fault though and that it was just the owners being twats again. Sure there were individual errors that cost him games but he has done lots of work with the players and they are now playing well within a system that he just slots another in. As I say I don’t like positivity for positivity sake but I for one will admit that he is doing very well with what he has and I hope that this continues. Still we are four players short of a proper squad and I hope that the owners support his efforts in this transfer window. I suspect they are smelling money again but who cares. He has done enough to warrant our respect and I hope they give him what is required to have a crack at climbing the table and a go at the play offs.
Adkins had been out of a job for a long time and was in danger of becoming an Alan Curbishley/Iain Dowie type manager where it looks like they've been passed over for so long, their career looks over. So the Allams appoint him and the suspicion is he's desperate to work and probably accepted a low salary and no money to spend, just to get on the managerial merry go round again. Right now it looks like an inspired appointment that is reaping dividends. I refuse to believe it was an appointment made with insight and shrewd judgement. The Allams have been unbelievably lucky with the way it seems to be turning out. Mixed feelings: delighted at how things are going for us, gutted that somehow it reflects well on their "prowess".
