Charlton Athletic have signed Wales midfielder Jonny Williams from Premier League side Crystal Palace. Williams had been with Palace since he was eight years old.
Seems a no brainer that deal. Preston suffering injuries upfront, at that price it is a risk worth taking using the Huggil money (Did they get £10m?) if it comes off you cash in and make good money, if it doesn't it isn't a great deal wasted in this day and age. They are reasonable safe currently so they can bed him in without the risk of relegation.
Jordan Mutch has left Crystal Palace on a free transfer. I’d actually take him, great midfielder at this level and decent cover while Irvine is away.
BREAKING: Bournemouth have agreed a deal to sign Nathaniel Clyne on loan for the rest of the season from Liverpool. [Sky]
Liverpool agree deal to sell Dominic Solanke to Bournemouth for £19m. Edit - Bournemouth have now confirmed the deal is done.
Wow, did not see that coming, but getting into that front 3 for Liverpool over the next 5 years is going to be very difficult.
BREAKING: Huddersfield have completed the signing of Crystal Palace midfielder Jason Puncheon on loan until the end of the season.
I know it'll be difficult for them to get quality in, but I'm glad to see that they look ****ed. Reading some of their fans calling for Wagner's head too. Bizarre but as the 60s film title went: It Happened Here. Sort of.
John Marquis at Donny has 14 already this season, matching his total from last season. The season before that, in League 2, he managed 26 in 45. I mean, as goalscorers go, that's the one you'd go for. Donny would want silly money I imagine, but still, he's got a similar playing style to Matty Fryatt.
Oh I know we won't bid for him, presumably the striker incoming is Ashley Fletcher. But it's the kind of player I'd like to see come in. If Peterborough are aiming for a lower league player, generally speaking, they get it right and so we should be in too. I wonder who the winger is. Maybe a youth player from a top 6 side?
"An interest in Middlesbrough’s Ashley Fletcher has been declared but Adkins is not expecting that deal to be concluded imminently. City are also in the hunt for a new central defender to replace Tommy Elphick and another option out wide. Further departures can also be expected as Adkins aims to make room on the club’s wage bill." From the HDM today.
