We got thrown out of most domestic competitions early with Klopp. He has used them to try out youngsters and resting key players. Nothing wrong with that as I am not saying that we shouldn't blood the youngsters in cup competitions. We should use some of the squad to give them match experience. But it is the message he sends out which will be important. The competition is tough enough for us to go with a half hearted attitude. If we don't go out for a win we won't win. Simple.
When he said we could go the whole season undefeated, I cringed and thought - "shut the *** up you imbecile". It may be Ok for fans or pundits to say that but the player himself? it is inviting pressure and ridicule.
No priotizing is much better ie league. All those waffling on about not taking fa cup seriously just want to carry on the bollocks of 30 yrs without a title and when we say yeah but we won an fa cup the reply will be so what title is better
Sounds like something the Spuds would say. That's not a piss take btw, but there's no guarantee that the trophies will come.
Trouble is liebherr you know thats true for a few people who have made the comment. I get the argument we should always try and win everything, but this is the best chance in a long long time of title. Bollocks to the cups lets win the ****ing league. We can go for the treble next year
Some things are inevitable in life when supporting a lower league team, you give passion in all trophies whether it be the FA Cup or the League, however, I get it when you are a 'big' club, winning is everything, and you have to set your priorities - only problem is the trophy cabinet like the pub teams cabinet, still remains empty
No chance. Matip is a far superior player than Lovren. Lovren is decent against lower teams that lump the ball to him but any kind of movement and he’s toast. Matip can at least read the game and situation
Right, Lovren: He didn't do anything calamitous, he just shows that he is at a level that isn't quite good enough for us. Remember, he was up against some of the best players in the world (how the **** does Aguero do that?) and he is just out of his depth in that company. However, don't let the scapegoating deflect from some of the other, equally important issues. I said before the game that the way to beat City is to play them, not try to stop them playing. We set up to do the latter, and that was always going to be the worst option, imo. When you have VvD as LCB, then RCB is always going to be the weak spot. City knew this and attacked it. The defensive midfield was set up to try and shield against this - but not only did it fail, it lacked creativity as a consequence. We didn't press high enough or aggressively enough, and we allowed them to bring the game to us. If you invite them on then they will find a way through eventually. We made a decent enough stab at a defensive approach - it was a game of fine margins - but it's not our game, and it isn't how we will win important matches. They wanted it more, and we let them have it.
Yeah I do kinda get that but you're better off chucking the CL than the FA Cup imo, need to get a trophy under your belt and there's no guarantees in the league.
He lost Aguero for the first goal with a simple bit of movement and didn’t get close enough to then block the shot. He played sterling onside by being 2 yards behind the rest of the defence for the 2nd goal and nearly gave away a 3rd with a terrible header to sterling when Aguero broke and nearly rounded Allison. Add in his pathetic attempted long ball at the end, guy had a shocker all round. Not to say the the rest of team were great, they weren’t, middle was shocking until Fabinho came on, but Lovren had a mare and cost us goals
Can i just ask, how many of you actually went to the game? It's one game and it's like your whole world has fallen apart, jeez man up lads
Exactly. We have just played on their own ground what many say is the best team the prem has ever seen and we lost on fine margins and we are still 4pts ahead of them. Lovren is still ****e though.
Mainly because our back up defence is Lovren and moreno, Our midfiekd consists of henderson milner Gini who wouldn’t get anywhere near the city Chelsea midfield and our back up strikers consist of Solanke and Sturridge. Compare to city who gmhave Kompany and otamendi as back up defence, gundogan and B silva as back up to D silva and de bruyne and Mahrez and Jesus as back up strikers. The difference in quality in squads is crazy and city on paper should walk the league most seasons based on the amount they spend on their squad
Not sure how it’s scapegoating when the player in question is literally at fault for both goals conceded and made countless other mistakes throughout the match ... But I guess the superfans don’t want to criticise players because they look less like proper fans ...
Got to be honest, if my fans behaved liked this I'd being telling to fook off to some shhitty hole like Tottenham, but Liverpool supporters are bigger than this, no glory hunters, real passion, don't let the doom and gloom mongers infest your club, Champions 2019, I can see it in the tea leaves
