I could watch this forever, can you believe that she was 16/17 when she wrote this, went to see the show, Beautiful, based on her songs at the Hull Theatre, I was so knocked out, and still am by Carole King at what she has written of co written, top girl.

 

I was aware of the term two timing when this song came out tigers, lol but you learn lol.

Summer 1960: Cathy's Clown was playing for 2 weeks on Teledisk on (what was the precurser to Kingston Communications) telephone for I think 2d per call. A bunch of us used to "tap" the number on a public call box (opposite Darley's in Hessle Recca on Boothferry Road) and essentially play it for several hours a day !
Enlightening times.

 

I've just realised that I have included this song, but an insult to the one and only Mick Ronson, so here it is to redeem myself, I hope. But what a guy, and a shame to me I never realised at the time, but hey, I'm trying here. Mick Ronson, including Mick, Ian Hunter, AND Queen, can you believe this line up.

We lost our nephew February 13th last year, been a really **** year, but for some strange reason that I cannot understand, music has been my savour. I have cried to nearly every record I've played, they've taken me back to my teens and right through to my fifties. I have been rewriting some of my favourite songs, I'm doing streets of London this week, its "streets of my town" now. I cannot stop writing poetry, a new one nearly every day. I've done a charity calendar and raised £1500, wrote two books and turned down a publisher that wanted to publish a book of my poems. A really talented local photographer wants me to put short poems to his pictures, I'm also doing a children's book where I'm organising a competition for some kids in schools in hull to design the cartoon characters in the book. Yet I still feel ****ing lost.... oh and I cry at every sad advert on the telly, Jesus I'm a right tart these days.... feel a lot better getting that lot off my chest... happy new year to you all....
Anyone seen the Bruce Springsteen on broadway video, it's ****ing brilliant....
