Under Ralph we've taken 4 points out of 9 against the top 6 clubs. That's a huge improvement already. Just need to make sure we beat teams we should be beating and we'll be fine.
Or FLT, to put another way, you have a strong spine to your team, running from GK, through the CB's, Kante (& Drinkwater), onto Vardy and Mahrez. Collectively they worked hard for each other which made them such a handfall and difficult to breakdown.
Bedhead had a good game by all accounts https://tbrfootball.com/southampton-fans-praise-bednareks-performance-in-battling-draw-with-chelsea/
Looks a real talent, for a CB with very little experience at 22 he has had a bloody good run since Ralph put him in the first team. Lets hope he keeps growing.
I know it won’t turn out like this but just for abit of fun. we actually got more points against those top 5 teams (4) only 3 against the lower teams. So if you weight the games on that basis, so 4/3 (1.33pts) against a top 5 team and 3/3 against the teams below that 3/3 (1 pt). Since we have to play the lower teams more than the top 5 teams our average will be less than 1.16 so we will get less than 36 pts.
Honestly, should have gotten a shot earlier. While not great on the ball, he seemed a more alert defender last year in limited action than the more seasoned pros.
I wasn’t convinced last season based on watching him have a shocker against England U21s and the couple of starts last season. I have to say that since he’s come in under Ralph he’s looking the part. Clearly pace is an issue, but positioning and reading situations seems to be helping him. The block against Arsenal was fantastic. Hope he continues like this.
Not really. Chelsea had a corner. It gave us a chance to A) Bring on another centre back and B) Allow the players to regroup before the corner.
