The mighty Woking will take on @Dan Starkey 2 Watford, @Stan rubbing his ticket with joy, well rubbing something. While the mighty Gills take on another Prem side Cardiff - It will be a given to get intoxicated pre match to numb the pain. I tried to find who @Commachio enormous travelling support were playing, but for some reason couldn't find the name Sunderland in the fixture list But the fun will start tomorrow night (Friday) when little ole lowly Tranmere take on and batter some North London Club - if Tranmere win, I might lift HiaG's ban
The Spurs fans going by train will have to get off at Lime St in Liverpool before getting the underground train to the one eyed city over the river. Expect the bars cose to Lime St will be busy before and after, hopefully the Spuds will be crying into their pints after getting beat by the Tranny's.
Woking confirmed today that they’ve sold all tickets. 5,700. Disappointingly, the last 250 that went on general sale to voucher holders from the last home game were in a standing area. The day trippers opted for the covered, seated stand so they really won’t get the whole experience but will no doubt consider themselves proper football fans for going to a non league ground (to watch a PL team).
I always remember there being a bar either at the ground or very close to it. Probably for both sets of supporters.
The ****s over there hate scousers so we'd never be in there whenever we play them, there's always a mob of them waiting for us.
I remember day trippers turning up for a big local FA Cup derby against Dover one year. We got beat about 0-2 I think at home, the day trippers went bat shhite mental
"Awaydays", Kevin Sampson's novel about a group of late 70s/ early 80s Tranmere casuals, is the best example of the "hooligan memoir" genre that I've read. Better than the John King Chelsea trilogy of the same era, one of which became the movie "Football Factory".
Tbf Tranmere did have a decent mob back in the day, small in number but stood their ground. Never read Sampson's book but will see if I can get a copy.
Definitely worth a read. It doesn't glorify football violence; it's just as much about friendship between troubled young men searching for identity and belonging. It's good on the music and youth culture of that era too.

Make sure you do if they lose. It would be an opportunity missed otherwise. Then you can ban him again afterwards. Love the FA cup 3rd round. One of my favourite days of the football calendar
They go on holiday pretending to be from our side of the river and spend the rest of their time hating us.
@Dan Starkey 2 this is the stand your lot will be shoehorned in. You also get a few seats in the main stand.
Reminds me of when i went to Crawley, but at least their section had a roof... please log in to view this image
The area we stand in doesn’t have a roof. Behind the goal does and we sometimes go there but it’s difficult for my lad to see what’s going on at the other end, particularly when the fecking steward stands in front of him.
We had a capacity (and some) of around 850 at Park View Rd back in 1989 when Welling Utd got drawn against Blackburn in the 3rd rd. Welling only lost the game 0-1 and were unlucky not to equalise for a lucrative replay at Ewood park please log in to view this image
