If they wanted to save/skim money, why would they give one of their highest earners 3 more years when his legs won't last that long?

If we have to bring in an old midfielder I would rather we brought in Charlie Adam. He never had any pace to lose (unlike Davis). I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think Davis will be that great a signing.

 

He's been excellent for NI recently. Still looks a player. My Saints fan mate still rates him. Shouldn't find SPL too hard.

 

Yes they could have. Unfortunately they thought that McGinn's family ties to Celtic would mean he would push for a move there and they could get him on the cheap. Not the actions of a club who have gazillions in the bank I think you would agree.

 

He's a quality player. Can he still hack it in the rough and tumble of the SPFL? I suppose we will find out. He will take some time to get up to speed having played little football this season.

If we are getting Davis for nothing then I can't see a problem with it tbh. We do have an excess of midfielders though with Dorrans on his way back as well. Pena is also still on the books although he looks to be going to Turkey.

They have continually said £10 million which is laughable.

 

Davis not being able to keep up with Kev Bruyne or Pogba or Kante etc is not the same as Brown not being able to keep up with Andy Halliday.

 

Turned down that from Villa (rumour I dont believe) he'll need to go in Jan so I think it will be around £4m

 

Brown can't even keep up with Dev on here now never mind Andy Halliday
