He is awake, as I understand it Dave, and can communicate (non verbally).

I didn’t realise. I do hope he comes back somehow, then. Such a tragedy

I think any semblance of a reasonably full recovery is gone.

Absolutely agree, Fran. The whole thing, as Dave rightly says, is terribly tragic.

    Agree .

    I would be a hypocrite if I said I " Liked " him as a driver , but he was a serious talent .

Never mind any of that , to be such an athlete and be trapped in such a way is horrifying .

Something that came up in a conversation earlier. I've turned it into a footy trivia question.

Ralph Hasenhüttl is the 46th manager of Saints since 1894, including caretakers such as Kelvin.

On what date were we half way through and lost our 23rd manager?

Please don't look it up. Answer later this evening.

With that level of knowledge Trump better employ local builders for his wall on the Mexico border, or it will be good bye Texas.

Think this is when Swans went from Div 4 to the top of Div 1 in 4 seasons then went all the way back again in a few short years...

It is. The one that couldn’t identify Alaska as Alaska. Then none actually pointed to the USA.
Not knowing any countries within Africa.....

I scared the postman today by going to the door completely naked.

I'm not sure what scared him more, my naked body or the fact I knew where he lived

    Dave Jones 27th Jan 2000.

So 23 managers in the first 106 years, 23 managers in the last 19 years. At that rate, we'll get through another 23 in another three and a half years.

How can you be an educated person and not know what the country you live in looks like on a map or it’s position in the world? Surely that’s the absolute minimum you should know.

Seemingly none of them know what a continent is either, or the difference between a continent and country. Africa is a country right...Argh, it hurts <doh>

My ability to locate Great Britain on a map is uncanny. :) I'm a bit hazy on exact locations of some countries, notably Eastern European ones (was easier when you just jabbed a finger and said USSR) and African countries between the Mediterranean ones and South Africa, but not bad on most others including South and Central America. How could they not pick out Mexico, Peru and Brazil?? And Australia almost waved at them.

I'm sure they could have found British people as ignorant...Amy Childs and Joey Essex for example, but they are extremes....people who have made a career out of being sweet and stupid. However, most would do much better, but perhaps that comes from being next to so many other countries whereas the USA is so big that visiting another state is as big an event as going to France or Spain. Asking the average Southerner to put a pin in Birmingham or Derby would display our ignorance even in our tiny country.

I'm going to try this with my Serbian students. Obviously, these videos only show the stupid ones. I'll be honest!
