I just didn’t think it was possible for us to play a game and not conceed a goal!! Fantastic result!!!
Our players looked fresher and that was a good confidence building point. We now need to hone our attack. Romeu was so good in the first half but Yoshida is my man of the match. Hope he doesn't go to the Asian cup for a bit.
No Bertrand. No PEH. No goalscorer for the second half. (I'll never deviate from my view that a striker is the most important thing for us this window. Ings can't carry us alone - he's good, but not that good.)
Useful point...like a bonus. So we've drawn with United and Chelsea and beaten Arsenal. Not bad at all. Shame about other results, but there were always going to be ups and downs. Now need to do better against lower clubs.
Feck it... an unexpected draw away to Chelsea? Ralph will be sacked in the morning. Shame. I liked him.
That's a great point. I missed the game as I am at work, I recorded it though. Is it worth my while watching the game when I get home?
I’ve been really impressed with Gunn tonight. McCarthy has been great and I felt sorry for him, that he was dropped, but Gunn is so much quicker off his line. Our back three are pretty slow and this takes the pressure off with both the balls over the top or balls splitting our defence through the middle. There were a couple of instances in that game where McCarthy wouldn’t have got out to it it off and they would have been left one on one. I think putting Gunn in tonight was so Ralph could be sure that we really don’t need Forster in the mix anywhere. Not only point proved, but he’s probably cemented a starting spot against Derby. Great team performance, great point. Happy days. COYR!!
Only matters on the last day of the season...we all just have to hold hands and be strong. Though you are correct...no fair.
I said that at the start of the season I expected Gunn to be number 1 by the end of this season and he is looking like he has an opportunity now to cement it.
A good defence starts with a solid, reliable GK and Angus has staked his claim for the jersey tonight.
