I was eleven! The wireless was the sole entertainment at home & I remember so many of those programmes with deep affection. I still enjoy the radio today.

It's one of those things that will probably be gone in a generation. My kids wouldn't know how to operate a radio. It is as relevant to their lives as a blacksmith.

Am I right in thinking that he has a 100% record? Won every game where he has played.

Very true. The press gave Spurs hell for losing to Gornik,Poland in the European Cup of 1961/2.....and we were 4-0 down at one time, but finishing 4-2. So for the return Spurs fans dressed as angels. However, the local vicar got pissed of with that and complained. So in the next round (after slaughtering Gornik 8-1 and a Polish forward named Pohl scoring the goal of the match) the fans changed to Roman warriors! One had the name Spurticus on his shield!
The crowds singing "Glory,Glory….." would have made your eyes water!

Lemmy was my favourite in Journey Into Space. I used to quiver with excitement listening to each episode. They seemed so far fetched, pure fantasy, imagine if we had known then what we know now!

I came across a set some years ago and I'm sure it could be today as one listen's Remember, they went to the other side of the moon and to Mars......and accidently sent back in time to prehistoric earth.
There was a song sung about "Lunar".....and that nasty Whittaker?
Oh I'm too old!!!!!! I'll be reminding you of "Up The Pole" next. "OOOOHHHHH, you'll never guess!"

No, you've lost me there, I 've no memory of Up The Pole. Sounds like a Carry On type of thing.
